This place is dated to say the least. The day I checked in the power went out, left me with no WiFi, water, tv, or access to the safe. I put my valuables in the safe, never prompted me for a code and locked, no access to open it. The manager left the property, he was the only one with a key so I was left with no ID, cash or purse for the day. I had to bathe with bottled water since they back up generator was also broken and with no power means no water either. Once the power came back on the WiFi & tv still did not work. While I was walking down the stairs from my room I fell and messed my knee and toe up (thought i broke my toe); when I told Russel the manager about the stairs not being well lit he argued with me saying they were and he would get his grounds person to look into. Not once did he ask if I was ok, did I need anything, I was in shock the lack of compassion. Room is also very dark, no lamps in the room, just 2 ambiance lights with are very dim. Rooms have no phone for local calls either which would have been nice since the WiFi didn't work. The water trickles out of the shower and you have to let it run for 8 minutes before you get hot water, then it is scolding hot; no in-between. The towel rack fell off the wall, the vanity mirror was under the sink as it fell off the wall too. The railing around the bar is also loosing and coming out of the concrete, if you leaned on it for support you would probably fall. This is no resort and needs new management.

Never go back for seconds.
What happened to the receptionist? The bar staff finally checked us in. The dining menu - we were advised a couple of items we chose were "off today", on re-ordering, the new items were "off today", previous items came back on. Major disagreements between cook and server. The resort is lacking maintenance at a basic level. Broken glass and cig butts by the pool. Unwashed floors, lack of facilities in room. No house phone no tissues in bathroom, The time share portion gets more emphasis than the hotel. Enjoy the mosquitoes. Absolutely filthy resort, not luxurious in any sense. Why did I have to make the bed on our first morning?

Not good value for money in comparison to US beach
Pros: - friendly, helpful staff; - right on the beach; - clear, warm, calm ocean; - two pools with sunbathing chairs and pool towels; - a large 103 F hot tub; - plenty of tables and chairs in the garden, restaurant and pool area; - beautiful flowering garden with cute lizards; - all power outlets in good condition; - all faucets in good condition, no leaks; - new, clean shower doors; - blackout blinds; - coffee maker and fridge in the room; - grocery store withing a 3-minute walk; - Marco's Pizza across the road - really good food and decent prices; - Wendy's withing a 3-minute walk; - free continental breakfast: cereal with milk, egg, muffin, toast with butter or jelly plus a drink (assorted juices, tea, coffee). Cons: - no bathtub; - no window screens, mosquitoes in the room; - low water pressure in the shower; - low interior lighting in the room; - lots of dust on windows and windowsills; - some drawers barely open; - slow wi-fi; - no microwave in the room; - empty bottles and other trash on the beach; - short beach, blocked by concrete walls on both ends; - renting a car is expensive, plus you drive on the left side. On the whole, the room looked like it could stand a remodeling and a good clean-up. To our mind, not a good value for money at all in comparison to US beach resorts. Overall, we had a good stay, mostly thanks to the sunny weather and very warm, calm, clean ocean.

It was all good until it wasn’t
I’m a big fan of island life and I can get used to slow service, having to ask for things more than once, and waiting. I can accept that the hot water can take forever sometimes. All normal. What was not cool about this place is that when we charged things to our room, they took the liberty of trying to run my credit card without allowing me to check the bill or telling me that I had to close my tab nightly. I was trying to ignore the previous bad reviews of this place and justifying that many people were used to a more traditional resort style and not a small local hotel. But messing with my money behind my back and not notifying me? Not cool.
