Pleasant location poor bed and lack of a/c problem
The Stanford River Lodge is in a pleasant, if out of the way location. While Stanford is a nice enough little town few if any decent restaurant options were available on a Sunday evening. Thus we had to drive at night about 15 km for a good meal outside of Stanford itself. The lack of a cooked breakfast option, as opposed to a breakfast basket, before our long onward journey was disappointing, however to be fair this is clearly highlighted on the website etc. The two key diffIculties were the uncomfortable bed and the lack of a/c (the latter again clear on the website), which led to an uncomfortable night for both of us. Overall, although well priced, we found our one night stay unsatisfactory.
