One of the best
It was just a short overnight stay in Newcastle. The hotel was in a great location, the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful and the room was ideal. We were in room 5.28 which is a great room with an interesting view but reckon room 6.28 would be even better. I would happily stay in a Motel One again and would recommend it to anyone

Awful service - would not stay again
I stay in the Motel One Edinburgh regularly and have always found it ideal for what I need with great staff...I assumed the Motel One Newcastle would be similar. On arrival, I was told that the card machines were down and they could not take payment. I was not allowed to check in unless I provided them with a card so that they could manually note down my card information to keep for taking payment later. I was not all that comfortable with my card details lying around the hotel desk but there wasn't much choice. I was told that it would be fixed that evening and an invoice would be put through my door to confirm. That didn't happen and when I went to the desk in the morning, I was told it still wasn't fixed. I had to leave my details with them. Confirmation would now be by email. When I arrived home that evening, I realised that I had left an electrical item in the room. It was an expensive item so I contacted the hotel straight away. They told me that housekeeping had left for the day and it would likely be in the locked office. They offered to call me in the morning once it had been located. Several calls with the hotel and later, the hotel have essentially said that the item has been stolen and there is nothing that they can do. I am apparently welcome to make a police report if I wish. have been more helpful and offered some compensation towards the cost of the lost item.
