I always stay at Hostal Catedral when in Mexico City (Several times now). Can't beat the location and friendly staff

Great location, hostel can be a little loud on the weekends. Bathroom door needs to be fixed I had a hard time locking it. Also I reserved an all female dorm room but ended up with a man in my room?

Noisy rooftop bar and patrons.
If you are planning on staying here over a weekend, don't expect to get much sleep. There is a roof top bar that plays music until the early hours of the morning on Friday and Saturday night and the patron are very noisy as they come and go all night long. The shower didn't always have hot water, and the cleanliness is questionable.

What a joke of a hotel.
No, no, no. Besides good location, there was nothing good about this hotel. Firstly, the room was dirty, and housekeeping never seemed to stop by. The windows turned inward, and most of the time it was warmer in the room than it were outside. There was no fan or air-con. When we finally got the hotel to bring us a fan, it held 25 degrees which did not really help. The bar/rooftop terrace was, according to a sign in the elevator, supposed to be open from 1 pm. We went upstairs, it was closed, they told us they would open at 6 pm. The door was locked. They opened sometime between 6.15 and 6.30. The laudry room was supposed to be open from 2pm according to some, and 6 pm according to others at the reception. There was one machine between 6 floors of guests, always a line, and the clothes needed three times in the dryer before they were anything but soaked. The wifi was absolutly terrible, especially in the kitchen. What a joke of a hotel. Oh, and there was only one plug. By the sink in the bathroom.

Nice enough
Can be a moist hostel as it has a central common area, rooms were hot at night but supplied a fan. The laundry did not work the entire time I was there and no one could help me locate a nearby place to wash my clothes (much needed). Their notice boards with free walking tours never happened, the day just kept changing, the only events they ran were boxing and BBQs. Good central location with a nearby subway.
