Pilgrim hostel 😉
The hostel is very basic. That's why it's cheap. They really need new bunk beds and chairs. I totalky would stay there again. Service is great, nice people from around the world, excellent location, and safe.

Location and little else
The price you pay gets you a great location but little else. The rooftop bar is fun with a good view, but the beds are uncomfortable and the whole building is noisy and stuffy.

Stayed twice in Two Weeks
We stayed twice during our latest trip to México. During both check-ins the front desk service was not ideal, we got attitude and not a great service, although during the last check-out the service was much better and they gave us a tag so we could keep our luggage in the hostel for 3 hours while we waited for our time to head over to the airport. The volunteers at the restaurant/breakfast area were very cordial and polite. The private rooms are clean and they have a good size. The shower barely had hot water, Taking cold showers during the morning was not ideal but manageable. Inside the room was noisy, you could hear all the water running through the pipes (which are exposed and pained as a room decoration), overtime someone was taking a shower, flushing the toilet, etc. The front desk staff where very strict about what happened in the lobby, but not about the noise that people were making late at night in the room floors, overnight we got woken up by people coming back late and being loud, it didn't matter that they where on different floors, it was loud and you could hear everything. In the morning you could also hear the noise from the breakfast area and lobby. The first day we got there, they were doing some renovations using spray paint, it was nauseating. The location is great and the price is great, but there is definitely room for improvement in many areas, starting with the from desk service.

Great location, hostel can be a little loud on the weekends. Bathroom door needs to be fixed I had a hard time locking it. Also I reserved an all female dorm room but ended up with a man in my room?

Noisy rooftop bar and patrons.
If you are planning on staying here over a weekend, don't expect to get much sleep. There is a roof top bar that plays music until the early hours of the morning on Friday and Saturday night and the patron are very noisy as they come and go all night long. The shower didn't always have hot water, and the cleanliness is questionable.
