Outdated decor ajd building work going on at back of hotel. Im disabled and have spinal problems. The mattress and bed amd mattress was made in 1996 and never changed very uncomfortble and no springs in mattress. Smell of fresh paint to cover the already outdated decor. Not very clean room amd numerous marks and burn marks in bath and wall etc. Approached reception to ask to move room and explained my health issues only to be told no other rooms and cannot supply a different mattress. This was met with "im sorry" said in a very un-empathic and unsincere way. Totally disgusted with this hotel as we where there on business for 4 nights. Best thing about this trip was leaving. Very overpriced especially for 4 night with no comfort or sleep. If you can find another hotel such as premier inn i would strongly advise to book that insted.

Great “no frills” budget hotel in virtually the centre of Halifax - good size room, comfy bed. Great breakfast with friendly service. Hotel clean although a little dated in places. Many bars and restaurants very close by on foot. “”Bad”” stuff - no bar in the hotel, no parking. Also a little noisy - Halifax has security barriers in the town centre with loud audible warnings - these can be heard in the room with the window open. I shall always remember this visit when I hear “Caution bollards moving” !! But ok with the window closed ! Lots of cheap parking in the area (free from 6 pm to 8 am) around the Minster. And parking fees are around 50p per hour. Good value for money for a simple “Bed and breakfast” between meetings with the added benefit of being pretty much in the town centre for an explore. Will stay again.

The White Swan is a characterful and charming hotel. The service was exceptionally warm and friendly from everyone on reception to the waitress at breakfast. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious (huge choice of food) The rooms were clean, spacious, quiet and comfortable. My daughter and I had a lovely stay and would definitely return

Nice greeting by staff, although i didnt get what was said when booking... room was spacious, clean with black out curtains. Only one latch on the window so let in lots of draft and i believe more noise, i was expecting it to be loud where the hotel is possioned... but was shocked how much louder it really was! The comfort of the bed was incredible! (Better than my own and thats saying something). I would recommend and i will be staying ahain in the future. PARKING WAS NOT £8 IT WAS £11.30 A DAY

Friendly staff and easy check in. Great location in the middle of town. A little noisy, but it was a Saturday night! Comfortable and clean enough though. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel was very central for our visit to the theatre. It is an older hotel and a little tired in places, but the staff made us very welcome and were very helpful. The breakfast was very nice and hot. I would stay again if in the area.

I stayed as I was going to an event at the Minster. The staff were really friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The hotel is in a good central location within a short walking distance of the Piece Hall and the Minster as well as the various pubs and shops in the town centre. In parts it was a little bit dated but I didn’t have any issue with that my room was large and clean and had everything I needed. I would happily stay there again.
