Go somewhere else... anywhere else.
I went to Hotel Splendid based upon a review in Lonely Planets Morocco . This hotel is worn and in need of some serious upgrades. The sheets and especially the bed cover need replacing. The WiFi is slow and when I went to the front desk because it didn’t work, all I got was ATTITUDE from the guy at the front desk. He used an alternate WiFi and connected me and literally just ignored me: RUDE. The location of the hotel is good and that’s about the only thing good going for this place. Back to my room, 116. Again if my room is representative of all rooms, this hotel seriously needs some improvements. ATTENTION LONELY PLANETS: open your eyes if you ever come back to this dump.

I have no positive things to say about this hotel, which is a shame because it has a lot of potential! The bathroom and toilet were the worst I’ve ever seen I don’t think it had ever been cleaned. You had to sit sideways on the toilet as it was so close to the bath. The toilet did not flush but constantly ran water throughout the night. The door on the bathroom was faulty and looked is in. There was only one electric socket in the room. We had a very poor sleep - the noise of music, people chattering and shouting, the air con - plus general uncomfortableness with the general feel of the place. The breakfast consisted of one yogurt, pain au chocolate (without the choc) and a Moroccan bread type crumpet with coffee - and out of date milk that had curdled. The hotel has plenty of big rooms and a good size pool - unsure how clean this was! I would not recommend this hotel

The location is convenient but that’s pretty much it For some reason they control the air conditioning from the reception. So it went off all alone and it was a cold and rainy night in Fes. The AC remote I had in room isn’t functioning. At 4 am I called the reception and they turned it off remotely. But my sleep was interrupted.

It is an old hotel that needs update. Staff were nice and helpful. Printing copier didn't work so I soent an hour outside looking fir a lkace to print boarding passes. I had food that needed to be in a freezer for the night. No freezer in the hotel. How can you prepare gor next day without abasic things lije these two. Hotel is a good location in the centre of the city. Nearby restaurants and banks and gasoline stations. I would recommend to spend a bit more and get a better place
