10/10 Exceptional

The Harrington
My brother made this reservation after I looked at the Harrington online, I was attending a White House ceremony, and the Harrington was within walking distance. The price was reasonable, and the location was within blocks of Ford's Theater and FBI Headquarters. The hotel itself is old...the oldest continually operating in DC, and that appealed to me. Staff was very helpful throughout my stay. There are three good eating spots in the same building...Harry's Bar, Harriet's, and Ollie's Trolley. I will tell you up front...if you are used to modern hotels, you may not like Hotel Harrinton. It fit me like a glove.

Nice stay
The staff was nice. The hotel is old but clean and we didn't have any issues. There are lots of places to eat within walking distance. Also, lots of tourist destinations in walking distance, like Ford's Theater and the Smithsonian museums. This isn't the Waldorf Astoria, but it is good enough.

8/10 Very good

Great for walking the city
It is an older hotel but it is clean. It is perfect walking distance to TONS things. We had a room with 1 queen and 2 twins, each space had its own TV and bathroom and it was perfect for our family of 4.

8/10 Very good

No frills but we needed was a place to shower and sleep. We were a family of 6 and they were so accommodateing. It needs updating but was clean. The staff was very friendly, great location, parking was 2 blocks away but secure. The one negative was the water pressure. We were there on some of the hottest and most humid days and we were worried about the AC (because of some reviews we read) but it was gine.We would go back

4/10 Fair

Poor conditions, good location
The hotel is very old and it shows. The rugs were not plain, they had waves. There were places on the room that were not vacuumed. The bed sheets were old and with humidity odor. Plus, I felt itching from time to time when I was sleeping. The bathtub had green stains on the water drain. I put the water hot and without a reason the water turned cold for a few seconds before going back to hot. That happened every couple of minutes. I told an employee and they were supposed to fix it early the next morning, but nobody went to do it. The air conditioner is central, so I couldn’t control the temperature. That was a problem because to me was very cold. The only positive was the location of the hotel, very convenient to see the attractions and museums. And most employees were cordial.

2/10 Poor

Decrepit Old Hotel, Truly Can't Recommend
Other reviews for Hotel Harrington make me wonder if these people have every stayed in a hotel before? Hotel Harrington feels like stepping into a time machine back to the Great Depression. Nothing in this hotel appears to have been updated in the last 100 years. And don't get me wrong, this is not a charming kind of old. This hotel is borderline decrepit. The bathroom in my room looked like a from a slum lord's apartment. We stayed in a double room that totaled to $170 for our stay. I couldn't believe I had just paid the same per night price at a luxury hotel in Santorini weeks before, to now be staying in this hotel that might have been the inspiration for the Tower of Terror. Quite honestly I'm surprised that I wasn't murdered in my sleep by a vengeful ghost. I'd remark on the service but the only staff I saw checked me in and all they did was hand me a key and a wifi password. Very central location in a tourist area, but I would implore others to just book elsewhere. Their pictures don't do justice to how poorly dated it looks inside.
