Bit tired, beautiful Beach
Starting with the positives: beautiful beach, very close to Manuel Antonio Park entrance, pool was okay Negatives: overall a bit tired/run down. Seemed like owners are trying to cut corners, save a few bucks Food area not appealing at all, and pricey at that. Beach chairs are old or rusty, cushions stained. Rooms very basic, old wicker chairs falling apart. Staff not particularly friendly or helpful. Use caution when booking a room, only the premium (beachfront) rooms are on the beach side of the road. ALL other rooms are above the road with a climb required.

Friendly hotel on excellent beach
We enjoyed our stay at Karahe. The semi-private beach is very nice with the hotel restaurant and pool right there. If you struggle with stairs I would recommend only staying in the oceanfront rooms. The other room types require some exercise to walk to. Wifi was fair in the room, and very good in the restaurant. Breakfast was pretty good. The hotel was overall very good, but I thought the price was a little to high for what it was. Maybe that's just the high season price the week after Christmas. The beach area is very good as I mentioned and if you want to spend a lot of time there this would be a good hotel. What I did not like is that all stores and restaurants (other than the hotel restaurants) were at least a 15 min walk on a steep, curvy road with essentially no sidewalk. Not very safe to walk anywhere with kids except on the beach. If you want to explore the area you need to either have a rental car, learn to use the public bus, or sign up for expensive day tours.

Nice stay and enjoyed the beach
We had a really nice stay in this hotel. Staff was very nice and helpful in answering all of my questions before the trip. The room is nice and clean with nice garden view from the balcony. Easy access to the restaurant which serves good food. Breakfast was good as well. The hotel has direct beach access, so I was able to enjoy the wonderful sunset view and also enjoy the quiet morning walk when sunrise. It is also a short walking distance to the Manuel Antonio NP, about 15 mins. Right out of the hotel, there's a bus stop, so it's convenient to go to Quepos or ride to MANP as well. Overall, we had a nice stay there.

Stayed in a superior room(renovated room on 3rd fl), room was nice with balcony looking out to ocean. Location was great, short 10min walk down beach to national park. Easy beach access and nice pool

Great location. Sub par room.
Great location right on the beach. Unfortunately the budget rooms are not in the main area of the hotel but are across the street on the highway. We didn’t like our room much but the restaurant staff was so nice and the location is awesome. The pool is pretty good.

Lovely place on the beach and walking distance to Manuel Antonio Park. There is two sections devided by a road. Ask for a beachfront room. Great pool and beach. Friendly staff. Loved my stay and would both recommend and go back.

Clean, friendly service at one of the only hotels
Clean, friendly service at one of the only hotels with beach access and AC!! Our family loved walking along the beach from our hotel to the local beach front park, restaurants and Manuel Antonio National Park. We especially enjoyed the jungle beach front complete with white faced monkeys to steal our food. Highly recommend this hotel to ensure a fun experience with kiddos!
