Eco-Hotel El Rey del Caribe

Easily the worst stay of my entire trip. After reading the reviews and seeing the amazing picture online I thought this hotel would be an amazing stay, however I was proven wrong very quickly. The staff are extremely rude, unhelpful and just plain grumpy. The breakfast is poor and very small. Small eggs and slices of fruit. Internet does not work in the room and around the hotel it’s is extremely slow. I couldn’t get any work done! The rooms doesn’t look like the pictures. It’s dark gloomy and full of mosquitos and bugs. The shower don’t work properly and after asking the staff repeatedly to fix it, they did nothing. Only good thing is the location to the local ado station and a street market. Simply not worth the money and will not return.

Absolutely lovely property and stay. Love the lush tropical feel in the garden. Only issue is the air conditioner. I like to get it cold in my room when it’s so hot. Was never able to get it cold enough for my liking. For this reason I won’t return in the hottest season. When cooler would definitely return.

The staff was lovely, the hotel was nice, the pool area was beautiful, but they need to work on a few little things. Number one, there was no English TV. Number two there is no way to set your air conditioning on any level once you leave the room so when you return it’s boiling. And I loved the kitchen, but there wasn’t so much as a fork, spoon or a coffee maker. And the Wi-Fi barely worked in the room, I had to sit right by the window and couldn’t move my phone. Although the manager/owner was nice and tried to help me fix it, they obviously need more bandwith. Again, the staff was lovely, the hotel is nice, they just need a few more modern amenities. Nice location, right across from the ADO station & good supermarket.

Cute hotel that bills itself as the greenest hotel in Cancún and it is truly a Mayan jungle. Very nice pool area, the room itself was an almost 400 square foot suite with kitchenette, bathroom, dressing area, vanity, dining area and bedroom space. It is not upscale, but it gives the feel of a historic hotel. Think 1930s Hollywood. You draw back the curtains and the glass in the windows is antique. It is gorgeous. No, it isn't a new and fancy resort but I'm telling you, think place is adorable, well located and the staff is perfect.

Couldnt find a more friendly hotel staff Nothing was too much trouble Beautiful environment to relax and enjoy the tropical landscape wish we could have had more time there. Muchas Gracias

Trees and birds, flowers, wonderful staff, quiet off the beaten path location with bus service nearby to tourist zone.

The property itself was ok tidy rooms only not much to do there staff were nice but spoke very little English breakfast was reasonable but they charged extra for toast etc I think the problem was the location there’s not much around the area not many bars or restaurants so had to catch buses taxis everywhere after 5 days of our 10 day holiday we decided to vacate and move to another hotel we received no compensation or money back which was disappointing 😢

I liked the early breakfast and the friendly staff. I like a room to be dark at night, but my room had a window above the door that I could not cover.

There is parking on the property (off of the street) Very friendly and helpful staff. Very nice surroundings. Like a jungle setting in the city
