Disappointing
The place was run down. Access was nearly impossible due to road conditions. No signs to indicate way (had to ask locals over and over). We were the only guests. Although we prepaid for two nights, we only stayed for one. Such potential but completely unkempt.

Great location but be sure to get prices AHEAD of time. They couldn’t tell us any prices till the final bill given. Most not too bad but they charged us $16 for use of jacuzzi when no mention of it in advance. When I questioned their shady pricing all they did was smile and shrug her shoulders. Super frustrating. But location was great.

10/10 Exceptional

Peaceful location with friendly staff
We had a great stay here for a couple of nights. The place is very peaceful, and offers great views of Mt Kilimanjaro in the morning and evening. We used their pick up service from the airport and was met by their driver Calvin. The last part of the journey to the lodge is off road and good fun. We spent a full day trekking to a local waterfall followed by making and tasting local coffee and banana soup, and finally trying the local banana wine. Our guide, Benjamin, was excellent. We then chilled at the hotel bar / restaurant which has great views. The food cooked by the chef was excellent. The place is basic, with basic showers, simple rooms, intermittent WiFi, and is in the middle of nowhere. None of this was a problem for us, but bear in mind before making a booking here. Overall, I’d highly rate this place, but don’t think I could have stayed for much longer than a couple of nights.

Great hotel that gets you ON Kilimanjaro.
Having researched the hotel before I went I got absolutely more than I expected. I did not expect a spa. Instead I got the solutitude and serenity of a mountain lodge. I did not expect five star menus with gourmet names but I got an amazing array of LOCAL food cooked by LOCAL chefs with ingredients grown by LOCALS. The most satisfying thing about it all was that I was able to unwind from the hustle and bustle of daily living in the western world. I will return.

2/10 Poor

It was ridiculous
Expedia must stop selling this place. Talking of which I demand refund. I've visited 40 plus countries and this was the worst. Apart from the location of the place there was nothing worth noting. The food was terrible, prepared by two local boys who had no clue what they are doing. They didn't had any supplies to make food in the first place. And food was prepared in a very unhygienic manner. No professional staff to attend, I was really stuck. There was no internet, they told some problem, bottom line I was disconnected and my family really freaked out. I had work to take care, couldn't do anything. There was no hot water in the place. I really don't understand how could you promote a place like this. I demand full refund. very unpleasant experience, also to mention I was the only person stayed there that day. They've asked exorbitant rates for transport to and from Moshi town as well. Looking forward to hear back!!

Recommended but be ready
So hard to describe this place. It's an adventure, a headache, and totally worth it all in the same breath. - Rooms are cheap and rustic but budget your transport costs. -views of valley were gorgeous -we were very fortunate to see Kilimanjar. It hid behind the clouds for all but 10 minutes – you really have to wake up early if you want to see it! - We got stuck on the way up AND the way down – which made for a grand adventure –we got help from people in the village to get the 4 x 4 out of the ditch but be advised that it may be worth the money to have the hotel truck transport you The food (not included) was quite good. We paid about $10 per person for breakfast + dinner. It was great we Loved It l but do know what you're getting into!

I enjoyed staying at the lodge. The staff was quite helpful and courteous and the lodge offered a wonderful view of Mt. Kilimanjaro and the Tanzanian sunset. The lodge also offered reasonably priced hikes to beautiful waterfalls in the village. The lodge is situated inside of a local village, so you are able to interact with the people and buy local favorites (try the banana wine!) It can get quite cold at night, so make sure to bring warm clothes, as heat is not offered. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would choose to stay here again if I ever returned to Moshi.

Beautiful view and people.
This place feels exotic because it's at the top of a long windy road up a mountain. One of the unexpected blessings was all the children and families that greated us with that Tanzanian joy. We plan on coming back but with a bigger crowd next time. Recommendation: get out of the City and hit the sweet quietness of this place!

Amazing lodge & ultra friendly staff!
Kili View Lodge is an AMAZING place! We really loved the lodge, setting, & the staff was ultra friendly! We will be back for future stays! They are upgrading their facility so they only have power for a handful of hours during the day but honestly it wasn't that big of a deal. The lodge is located up a dirt road a little over an hour away from town but it is worth it.
