Mixed feelings about this hotel. Our first room was infested with ants and we could not stay there. We were able to upgrade into a suite the following night, which was a very nice room, but we did leave to stay somewhere else the first night instead. One staff member was incredibly nice and helpful in getting us into the new room!! But the rest of the staff weren't very kind/friendly. We did have to pay for the upgrade which seemed unfair due to the ants and also finding trash under the bed in our new room as well. We were hoping for more but were fairly unimpressed. The beach and pool were fine, but would stay somewhere else next time. The food at Root restaurant was one of the worst meals I have ever had in my entire life and I regret going there -- staff there also seemed incompetent. Breakfast buffet was just OK (watery eggs, uncooked bacon, lots of fruit flies)-- aside from the omelette station which was very good.

Artemis was such a charming property and we loved our stay here. We were in the lowest room category but were blown away by the space. We had a gorgeous patio with hammock, sofa and chairs, and inside there was a separate sitting area & kitchen which led through to a great sized bedroom and bathroom. The beds were so comfy and we were pleased the AC was not above the bed so we didn't wake up with dry mouths etc.! We wished there was a stocked mini bar and robes / slippers but oh well! The pool area was gorgeous and the beach was equally as beautiful. It was very useful to be guaranteed a sunbed and we spent a few days just relaxing here. The beach club was quite expensive for what you got, however, it wasn't enough to put us off. There are a couple of downsides - the property is SO secluded, we didn't much enjoy the hotel restaurant so we discovered taverna next door and we absolutely fell in love, however, other than this taverna and Sirocco on the other side of the beach, there is nothing else, no shops, no bars, no nothing - everything is a taxi ride away which is 40eur minimum one way. They were so helpful in arranging a car and ATV hire though, but do bear in mind transport costs. The staff were lovely, however, they seemed so fixated on being perfect they lacked any personality which was a shame - the women were smiley, however, all the men seemed grumpy / no smiles. Overall though, a stunning stay and I would recommend to everyone!
