Lovely home that has several shared spaces that are beautifully appointed. We stayed for 2 nights, choosing this location primarily for convenience. We felt safe and secure while we were sleeping and the breakfast was very nice. We only experienced the garden through the windows because of the weather but it was simply beautiful.

The host has taken the theme from the book, The Secret Garden, and fully manifested the spirit of this wonderful story in the development of the property. There are many thoughtful touches and hospitality is abundant. The entire upstairs floor is what you get when renting this property. The upstairs floor would be shared with whomever is renting the other bedroom. This would be a terrific place for a family of 4 as you would not be sharing with anyone else and you could prepare dinner here, play games, read, work on the jigsaw puzzle, etc.

Huge mistake - beware!
Beware- this is unlike any b&b I’ve ever stayed. It’s just a room in the hall of a personal home. It has not been updated n decades and the room was tiny - barely fit the 2 twin beds it comes with. I could hear the stranger across the hall clearing his throat - that’s how close you are to the other “room” they offer. No private conversations or phone calls possible. The guest refrigerator is their personal refrigerator -packed full of their food their left overs etc. The “breakfast” featured literally rotting bananas and boxes of cereal. When asked for special requests for breakfast I typically look for anything w protein - he told me to eat their leftover fish in the fridge. The worst part however was their treatment of me when I was forced to leave bc accomodations weren’t as described and I needed privacy on calls for work. Host was lovely initially but became actively hostile when I pointed out some of the issues with accomodations. Although I checked out the morning after my first night (I couldn’t get out of there fast enough), he insisted on charging me for all 3 nights and said further discussion was “a p***** match.” There are many wonderful alternatives so unless staying in a room in your grandmothers not-updated home is your thing, I’d avoid The Secret Garden.

This is my first time in B&B. The owner Jerry & Patty are excellent host. The house has vintage decor and such relaxing patio. My husband and I just so enjoyed sitting on the patio sipping beer and wine. Neighbors are very quiet. The house is located near by point defiance park which is nice park to visit. The restaurant Antony also very close and is by the water. Thanks again for such warming welcome. Wish Jerry and Patty have good business
