    Family of 4 stayed 3 nights before Christmas

    Family of 4 stayed in 2 rooms for 3 nights just before Christmas. Rooms were very clean, staff were very polite and helpful, overall hotel facilities were excellent, Japanese spa was very good refreshing and neat/clean. just 5 mins walk from Kyoto station. however, we find that the breakfast was not as delicious... though the spread was quite good.

    Almost everything except the size of the bathroom, which even by Japanese standards, was tiny. But comfortable bed, spotlessly clean room and excellent breakfast. The Japanese bath/onsen was perfect and well organised - in fact the pajamas provided for bathers were so comfortable that I used them for sleeping as well.

    Nice and clean, near Kyoto Train Station.

    Very nice and clean hotel. 3 mins walk to Kyoto Station, that’s very convenience. I booked a room for3 persons, the room size is ok when you compare with the Japanese standard room which is quite small. The toilet in my room is quite small, but I’m quite impress with the amenity kits which are good quality.

    Great staff and customer service. I had an issue with my room after checking in. They were quick to find me a new room. The spa was a great bonus, and very welcomed after a long day of walking.

    Save yourself - stay elsewhere

    Honestly the worst hotel experience of my life. There isn’t room here to go into everything that was wrong, but the one that put me over the edge was how the staff managed one particular problem. My room was boiling lava hot when I checked in, like opening an oven door. I opened the window (it’s November) and turned on the air full blast, but it didn’t help...there was clearly something amiss with the heating system in this room. I went downstairs, and after about five minutes of explanation, the manager finally told me that all the rooms are the same temperature, so basically get over it (my words, but that was the gist). I persisted, but I got nowhere...they treated me like I was crazy, and essentially called me a liar (again, my words). But, there was no way I would be able to sleep in that room, so I kept on until finally they agreed to give another room. This took about 20 minutes. He came up to my old room to experience the jungle temperature for himself (my suggestion). “It’s a little warm,” admitted there manager, and then started to run down a list of all the possible things I could have done to make it so hot. Poor guy didn’t know what he was in for - a hot New Yorker who had just been called a liar, had lost a full hour of her single day in Kyoto dealing with nonsense, and was now being told it was her fault. Folks, this hotel is not worth your precious time. See also the attached photo - a sign that was in the room that embodies their approach to customer service.
