Lovely stay! Would go again!
We had a lovely one night stay in West Highland Hotel. We had a room with a sea view and just loved everything about our room - very cozy, warm (that was important as on our stay the weather was quite bad and it was very cold) and what we enjoyed the most with a lovely sea view. We woke up watching the sea and isles. Would love to return again. The hotel also has a nice restaurant and bar. We did not go into the restaurant but it had a nice view too and we enjoyed the evening in the hotel bar - it had a lovely ambient atmosphere and everyone was very nice. I almost did not want to write this review so we could have that lovely room just for ourselves next time again, but they really deserve all the appreciation they can get. It seems it is going to be closed for December which is a shame as we would love to go again before Christmas but understandable as Mallaig seems to get very quite after November. Overall, lovely staff and lovely hotel - would love to stay again!

A nice place to rest
Really lovely warm welcome at reception. The room was a long way from the reception to be fair but it was clean , comfortable and had great views over towards Skye. The food was really nice and not badly priced. The staff both in the restaurant and the bar were pleasant and attentive without being intrusive. In brief a nice place to spend a few days

west highland hotel.....
hotel is in good location.. need was nice and clean tho the room needs painting.. marks on wallpaper.. doors and skirting boards badly chipped ... continental breakfast not good value...limited choice.. bathroom needs a deep clean.. mould on shower head... for this price per room they need to check the rooms!

Disappointed.
Overall the stay was ok. The reception area was really lovely and cosy. I booked into the Superior room for my partner as a birthday present. Really disappointed in the room. The decor was really tired and there was a huge hole in the wall where the door handle had been pushed through. The bed however was really comfy. The room was definitely not worth the price. I also paid £30 for 2 breakfasts on top. We went down 10 minutes earlier and the waitress wasnt going to let us in. When we did get seated it took 15 minutes for a waitress to ask if our order had been taken. Not much available on the continental side and the cooked breakfast was very tasty but not enough of it. Would I stay again?.....No.
