A nice hotel but a bit run down on the outside My pet hate is grubby or shabby bathrooms and I didn’t like this one For a few pounds it could have looked better Food was very good and thd biggest portions ever Breakfast choice was excellent

First getaway as a couple!
We came away for a couple of days as our first holiday as a couple. The staff made us feel really welcome and we really enjoyed everything about the hotel. It was so good we booked and stayed an extra night! We look forward to returning soon.

A mixed experience
this hotel several times before and really enjoyed myself and I am reluctant to leave a less than positive review. The bed and bathroom were clean and the breakfast was lovely. The staff were lovely too. The room however was far worse than those I had previously stayed in. I booked a double room but the room allocated was smaller than the ‘compact’ room I had stayed in last winter. The room had a view of a brick wall and the wallpaper was coming off the walls. I appreciate that a hotel like this is difficult to maintain however the experience was much worse than my environment at home. I did not feel that the room size was accurately reflected on the website. The corridors on floor three were unpleasant (and I don’t have particularly high standards) with visible water damage and wallpaper coming off the walls. Could an attempt Not have been made to make this look a bit nicer for guests? I would feel slightly embarrassed if this was my hotel. We had a nice night overall although I left feeling disappointed and slightly fobbed off. I might think twice about staying here again (I have been now for several years), although the location is great and the price is good.

Awful
Felt like a university dorm room that was dark dingy unclean and very smelly. Free everything i feel trys to compensate for how awful the rooms are. Stayed in better for same price and less. In uk and across the world. Worst place ive stayed and ive stayedin hostels. Exoectstions were basic clean comftable these were not met

Disappointing
I booked this hotel as a part of a North Yorkshire tour which was a birthday treat for my partner (this hotel was the most expensive pppn) I had also upgraded to a larger room with a king size bed. We stayed in room 307. Parking was good and free; The staff on reception were helpful; The hotel itself was in need of updating and it did look like there was some attempt to do this, however shodilly; The room was large and had a side seaview, the kingsize bed were two uncomfortable singles pushed together and the wooden headboard where initially we were going to leave our suitcase was filthy (partner allergic to dust mites) so I took it upon myself to clean it (I didnt want to make a fuss as it was a birthday treat); the bathroom had been upgraded.....it was a wet room, the walls had modern laminates but the flooring was dirty and mouldy and spoilt the room; Breakfast was buffet style, self service and the food quality was average. The hotel had a pool and sauna and also a chill out room but we didnt visit on this occassion.
