Great place
Lovely little hotel. It was under renovation during our stay, but it looks like the renos will be really nice once complete. The front desk staff were very responsive and took care of any issues immediately.

Room Upgrades Not Honored
We booked a large block of rooms. One guest had his own booking and paid extra for an upgraded room. They did not honor the upgraded room and arbitrarily assigned our group to rooms of varying sizes with varying amenities, which caused tension within our group. They did little to help and the person who paid for the nicer room was forced to leave. They also gave one of our guests a room on the ground floor that had blocks of wood holding up the windows, allowing anyone from the street to break in. When we asked to switch rooms, the staff was friendly but unhelpful, claiming all of the rooms had been checked into despite the fact that it was not check-in time. I would not recommend staying here, unless the price is very competitive and you're looking to save.

Renovation or not: gem hotel!
Ok, yes, the air conditioning and lifts are not working due to renovation, but they make that clear before you arrive. The stairs are the narrow historic stairs seen in the canal side homes/hotels, so if ya have a lot of luggage or heavy luggage, request a lower floor..But the staff that we encountered when we checked in were so helpful! The personal touches were delightful. The location is great, the room we were in was so spacious, and the view from our room was amazing! Hope we can afford to come back when renovations are done! Thanks!

Lovely small hotel in the center of Amsterdam. Great location for sites, food, etc. AC broken and no elevator - plan to pack light as rooms are upstairs. Staff was extremely helpful and gave good recommendations for local restaurants. Would stay again (once AC is fixed)

Construction zone
It was a construction zone with garbage bags and handy men all over. The air-conditioner did not work, (26 degrees) and the replacement made noise so I need to turn it off. Noice, in the afternoon. And no, I did not have time to change the hotel. Now spend 1,5 hours with the Hotels.com support "service".
