Frustrating Customer Service
We didn’t even get to stay at this property, we had emergency circumstances and asked to cancel several times and have supporting documents. They wouldn’t respond or help in the situation, even to allow credits at a later time. On top of that they wouldn’t even mark as cancelled or no showed, which seems strange, and it is necessary for documentation now that we have to try through our insurance. I was very much looking forward to this hotel and stay and wanted to stay in the future when we are able to rebook, but most likely not now, we will choose a different property with better customer service.

Great Location & Experience
The hotel was unique with an amazing location and sea lions and lizards and crabs right outside the room. The staff was overly nice and attentive. The booking on is a bit deceptive - we booked a suite but what they pictured and what we got was a not the same. However still nice ocean view. Just confirm what you are getting. Would still recommend staying here

Exceptional 10,0
The front desk staff were very helpful and made our stay excellent .. one gentleman at the front desk is a credit to the hotel. We had one issue which was alarms going off at 2-5am continuous alarm and flashing light that shone into our room as it was next to reception. No staff could be found to reassure us, we had no electricity/ phone or WiFi. We were told the next day that there is a night staff and it was due to a power surge; we made a suggestion to put a sign at the front desk with how to contact the night staff for future occasions. We were offered a glass of wine on the house for compensation... this was a little poor for the situation we encountered. I can understand the power surge was not controllable but having someone or some way of contacting someone for future situations or emergencies is controllable.

Expensive but it was worth it
Trip with the wife. Galapagos Islands were the stars of the trip. Red Mangrove was a wonderful place to stay. View from our room was excellent. On the restaurant deck, sea lions and iguanas were literally all around. Amenities were above average, food was good quality. Location was great and they provided free bicycles for transportation, if needed. We were able to walk anyplace we wanted. The only concern I had was the cost which was significantly higher than others around. After all we didn't spend much time there other than to change between excursions or sleep at night. But the quality of atmosphere and service made it worthwhile for us.

Simply wonderful
Wonderful rooms. Great views but this hotel is made extra special by impeccable service, especially from the front desk. Thank you for some very special memories having dinner on the deck and breakfast watching the sea lions playing nearby. We enjoyed breakfast and lunch. The use of free bikes is a bonus. It was a marvellous experience- thank you

Good 6,0
Nice, but not worth the price
Despite this being a luxury resort, the areas behind buildings, which are visible from walkway and street, are in disrepair and have trash. One night at dinner we were told the outdoor waterfront seating area was closed. Unbelievable given that guests are paying more to have waterfront ambiance. And charging for water at dinner, given the free water dispensers and tea stations for guests just outside the restaurant, is absurd given the hotel rates. There are other places to stay which are much cheaper, and provide similar amenities and service. On a plus note, the rooms are lovely, and the restaurant staff is very friendly and helpful. And seeing the sea lions and marine iguanas on the decks is very entertaining, which is the Red Mangrove's niche in the Puerto Ayora lodging industry.

Never get the full board
Disappointed overall, the full board is a scam, tried to not offer anything at all, then offered a few selections for lunch along with one drink, total scam and bait and switch. I should receive a refund.
