Christmas in Cape May
The Hotel Macomber is an historic Inn, as are many of the accommodations in Cape May. As such, they have no elevator, and they don't have a bell captain to help with your bags. So getting to your room, that may be on the 3rd floor, can be an issue. The rooms are small and simple without a phone or clock. The bathroom in our room looked like an addition, and it there was no heat. Fine in the summer, but not in December. There is parlor room on the main floor that is furnished with period pieces from the Victorian era, and there is a comfortable porch with rocking chairs. The location is great, just across the street from the ocean. There is an award winning restaurant is on premises, as well as a bagel/coffee shop.

Just ok
I was surprised there was no breakfast with the stay, not even coffee in the morning and the coffee in the coffee shop was overpriced. As far as the room, it was nice but there was an odd smell in the bathroom which stayed the whole weekend. I have been coming to cape may for 30 + years. I have stayed in various places. I will not stay at the hotel macomber again

crashed by wedding
Great location, nice updated bathroom, stairs not that big a deal but they had a Friday night wedding and hotel NOT soundproof. For a place with signs telling you to whisper, to have the Macarena coming through the floors and walls at 1030 pm is wrong. no help there from managment or desk quiet boutique hotel turned into Wildwood. no Bueno

Great stay at a beautiful hotel. This was a return visit and so glad we went back to Cape May and the Hotel Macomber. Staff is great and accommodating. Can't wait to go back again.

Location was excellent. Walking distance to many sites and activities. Room and hotel were as advertised, with no elevator or bellhop, but that was not a problem for us. Hotel was directly across the street from the beach. Many restaurants and places to eat within a short walk. A major plus was the onsite parking. We only moved our car once.
