weekend break
we had a nice break .the hotel had just reopened after covid so the bar was not open [understandable].However there are bars and pubs within walking distance along with restaurants too.The bed was really comfy and the shower worked fine .Although the room was somewhat dated it was spacious and had everything we needed. We will stay again if back in Margate but would ask for a seaview room!

Enjoyable stay
When we arrived we we're offered an upgrade as it was a special occassion for £10 a night, which we took. It was great to see the sea from our room & we had a very spacious room. Hotel is a 15-20 min walk from the town which was handy, and a lovely running route out to Botany Bay along the sea front.

Friendly and good value
Room was nice for the price, a bit dated but comfortable, nice bath tub. Unfortunately the lift was not working for both nights of my stay. The 24 hours reception and bar are great, menu looks good too, however room service charges an extra £5 per tray. Cheaper to get delivery from the opposite side of town than from down the stairs! Wi-fi is only guaranteed in public areas. In my second floor room was working intermittently and I ended up mostly using my phone as hotspot. All in all I’ll definitely go back for the position and it’s good value for the price, but few things could be easily improved.

Good for what I wanted.
Ideal for a one night stay. Staff were excellent. Room a little tired but I was only using it to sleep so no worry for me.

Margate (by just Dave)
It was pouring down when I got to Margate . Visit the pier & have a beer by the side of the sea. Not in this weather guv. The hotel room was fine & everything worked. Mr Thicko here only just figured out how to adjust the shower temp. I didn't have any food & was only there for about 12 hours one of which was the extra hour we all got that weekend. The check out time was very generous but I'd scarpered by then for another day road trip.

Well worth a visit
Visited hotel as parents live closeby and loved their wedding anniversary a few years ago with the family run business being delightful. Easy to book and rearrange correct family room for two nights Alittle difficult with pram but left it in car most of the time. Staff amazing friendly cheerful chatty knowledgeable Breakfast amazing buffet style orangery very clean fresh airy light Lounge lovely to sit in comfy chairs and good stocked bar Room 5a alittle tired and worn now I’m afraid bathroom had lovely shower cubicle good supply water just tiles missing in room and door doesn’t open fully. Corridor a great extra within the room and bedroom very nice layout and very comfy bed. Views of rear car park not best or music at back of hotel of nearby “ the Albion rooms” but was fine with us as baby of 16 months slept all night both nights and didn’t hear any other babies above or below Will definitely re visit Good walk to Margate of 20 mins or Cliftonville of 20 mins and loop bus from just up the road to ramsgate or broadstairs too

Looks can be deceiving - proper seaside hotel!
Only stayed for one night, and there was a wedding on, which we were warned about before we arrived, but we had a room at the top with a sea-view and the music was inaudible. If you want the seaside hotel experience then this is the place. Needs a bit of TLC for the room decor and public areas beyond reception, but clean, and we had a huge room with a 4-poster bead plus a kitchen for some reason. Wifi, flat ccreen telly, nice coffee machine, all the things you expect and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also excellent (esp. the sausages!)and they were happy to let us leave the car in their car park on the day we left so we could do a bit more exploring. Overall, much more of a positive experience than the exterior of the hotel might mead you to expect! You might have got cheaper at a Holiday Inn but it's the British seaside and you deserve the Esplanade experience!

Disappointed .
Staff very helpful. Breakfast was good Hotel is in need of decoration. Not clean. Plastic cups behind wash basin . Visible dirt/ dust on fans in dining area . Was up graded to deluxe room as not told of function but asked to be down graded again That room had torn sheets and mattress was old and lumpy . Standard room much better . Don’t think I would book again . Hotel looks a lot better in the pictures than reality
