Comfy hotel in super location
I chose this hotel owing to its proximity to the Bolshoi Theatre, and it was extremely convenient on that score. Even in heavy snow, it was about a four-minute walk to the Bolshoi, and the other theatres that surround it. It was also right next to the myriad restaurants and cafes on Kamergersky Pereulok, and a short walk to the intersection of the Teatralnaya, Okhotny Riad and Pl. Revolyutsii subway stations. I stayed in one of the hotel's small rooms, but it was far from the smallest hotel room I'd ever used and very comfortable, with a nice bed, plenty of closet space and hangers, and the room was warm. Setting the proper temperature in the shower was a bit of a challenge, and I probably wasted quite a lot of water as a result. Located on Kuznetsky Most, your taxi driver may have difficulty driving you right up to the hotel, but this is an extremely minor detail in comparison with the convenience of walking to and from the hotel during your stay. It has no lift, and the reception desk is located up half a flight of stairs, but again, once settled in, this was no inconvenience. The wi-fi connection worked very well, and the room was equipped with a nice kettle and large soap and shower gel dispensers. The reception staff spoke good English, and took care of the formalities of registering my visa promptly.
