Amazing. Beautiful Lagos Argentinas, snow capped mountains view. Beautiful room. Staff at front desk, at the restaurant are incredibly helpful. Hotal location is a bit far from the toen center - but that’s the trade off between amazing landcape and town proximity

Hotel is away from town but offers a spectacular view of and a short walk to Lago Argentino. Room lacks air circulation so was stuffy and window has no bug screen to keep the bugs outside. Wall electrical outlets are not dual use so remember to bring converter. Good food at the hotel restaurant but pricy for some items (e.g. 150 peso for a Caesar salad but a nice steak can be had for 200 peso). Hotel also offers a convenient shuttle service into town.

The hotel sits right next to Lake Argentina and has beautiful views of the lake, mountains, wildlife (lots of birds) and sunsets! The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. They also have adapters you can use if your plug does not fit (my S American plugs didn't work here). The rooms were nice but a little loud when doors would shut. Hotel has wifi and computers and a nice restaurant on level 1. The local tour companies are familiar with the hotel and will not have a problem picking you up for a tour. There's a free shuttle into town (5 min drive), to the main shopping/eating area of town.

Room not sound proof. Noisy if close to restaurant/bar. Long check out line due to large tour group.

Hosteria las Dunas is an excellent accomodation in El Calafate. We received a warm welcome with a glass of wine and snacks. The location by the lake and the magnificient views from the living room and bedroom are the biggest advantages from this hotel. As it is located outside town, the free shuttlebus to the center is a big plus. The staff did their utmost to inform us about trips to Perito Moreno and the surroundings. The only minus of het hotel is the fact that the walls are pretty thin and we could hear our neighbours. Would definately recommend this hotel to everybody that loves nature and does not mind being accomodated outside of town.

I compare this hotel to Hampton Hotel in the USA. Clean and quiet, safe and efficient. Rooms were spacious and we had beautiful lake views. Price was reasonable. Breakfast was basic but adequate. The staff was very helpful getting taxis as needed and providing information on their free shuttle service into town. The location is somewhat removed from downtown.

Diego and Ms. Molina were so helpful with the coordination of day tours. The dinners at the restaurant were amazing and I appreciated the packed lunches for our day trips. We loved the location on the lake and the comfortable feel of the hotel, it was the perfect place to chill and relax.

In a town filled with hostels and a few overpriced "luxury" hotels this establishment is a great choice. The hotel is about 1.5 km from the centre of town which is fine because they run a complimentary shuttle bus. A taxi from the bus station to the hotel was less than 80pesos anyway. The hotel is situated opposite lake Buenos Aires and we had a lovely view especially in the morning and at sunset. The hotel staff were very helpful. We had dinner in the hotel one night which was very nice and actually cheaper than town. The hotel room was huge and comfortable. Also opposite the hotel is a small nature reserve and so one day we walked back from town (a pleasant and easy walk) via the reserve where we saw the local birds including flamingos and andean ducks (blue bill). The hotel breakfast is typical of Argentina breads, jams, pastries.
