Area not walkable to attractions . Parking limited
Parking was limited. Floor in roomwas uneven and dirty. Area of city was run down. Ok for the price but there are other budget hotels in Montreal in walkable neighbourhoods.

Very pleasant and quaint.
Quaint, clean and good location. It was my first trip to Montreal and I didn't want to stay in a sterile new chain hotel. We wanted that "older" Montreal feel and experience. The staff and owner are wonderful, friendly, and VERY helpful. They directed us to the Metro (a short walk away), good restaurants, and the best sites to see. Thank you very much for a pleasant stay.

great customer service
Amazing service. We were coming from Toronto and were in a car accident on the way there and were not going to make it for the 11pm check in and when I called there were no issues they gave me the dirt code so when we got there we could go into our room and everything. The staff was all amazing. I would 10/10 stay again. Also a beautiful old building with free street parking that was easy to find.

Nice place, but have in mind the reception hours
I booked this hotel for my overnight stay in Montreal. I was supposed to arrive late - but thanks to an almost 80 minute flight delay I arrived even later (about 20 minutes after midnight). To my really unpleasant surprise the front door was closed and pressing the ring button didn't help me at all. While wondering what am I going to do (just arrived, no local SIM, with prohibitively expensive roaming on my home SIM card, no one around), I was really lucky that some hotel guests arrived late, so they let me in the lobby. There I could find the wifi password, the 24-hour contact phones and a phone I could make local calls from. Unfortunately my luck ended there, because all contact numbers ended in a voice mail picking up after some time. My call to also didn't produce a different result, so I just had to wait for the morning on the couch in the lobby. Quite an unfortunate way to spend the night, but that's life :-) Exactly at 7:30 am, when the reception opened, I got the key to my room, and everything else was OK. But this memory will hardly be erased soon. The hotel is nice, located in a beautiful historic building, rooms are clean and comfortable, bathroom is simple, but nice, wifi is actually great, and despite the attractive room price, it also includes some breakfast (well, the traditional American continental breakfast - but in a relatively nicer version than in the USA). I would stay there again, just watch my flight hours very carefully.
