The Scholar is located on the campus of the University of Edinburgh. It was in a cute building with pretty landscaping to walk through. The bus is a five minute walk from the door and takes you anywhere you need to go in town for a few dollars. The hotel was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom had everything you need including a heated towel rack. I made hot chocolate in the room with the provided electric kettle. My daughter and I ate dinner in Abacus, the restaurant downstairs. It was delicious and the staff were so kind. Highly recommend!

We had such a wonderful stay at The Scholar. Gorgeous view of Arthur’s Seat from our room, comfortable bed. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The staff were all wonderful and very helpful. This was our third stay here at The Scholar. Definitely will be back.

The room was very clean, we were very comfortable. It was a wonderful surprise to get a lovely gift of Prosecco and biscuits for our 38th wedding anniversary, we really appreciate it . The staff were all wonderful and helpful especially Hannah the restaurant manager, who was so helpful and lovely at breakfast.. breakfast was great, they were very accommodating with what we wanted. We had a lovely meal at The Abacus, the staff was very nice, didn’t caught the manager name, but he was very helpful and patient. Bonus there was Ev charging too.

What a lovely place. Easy to get to, parking was close by, staff were great, breakfast and restaurant were excellent. Access to city centre was good, we walked in and back, no need for taxis.
