Worst experience ever.
Curtains and bedsheet were stinking. Room heater doesnt work. Bathroom and toilets are very dirty. There are two taps one for cold and one for hot water. So you either have to use extremely cold water to wash your face or extremely hot water to burn your face. Staff is rude . Double size room is smaller then a garage. I will not recommend it to anyone .

this place is an absolute dump. starts with the unmanned entrance - so you need to go find someone in the pub to give you an access card. the steps are dated (short), with ripped carpet and very unsafe. You can smell nicotine throughout the lengthy corridors. the room is a shocker - ultra cheap mattress with worn springs, smelly, tiny, with walls where moisture persists with paint peeling off. the table with the kettle has severely damaged with water. the carpets are so warn you can almost see the underfloor. so disappointing. an ABSOLUTE DUMP.

Room and ensuite was adequate. Ventilation in ensuite did not work. Heating room was difficult. Decor is tired. While place was secure, not an area of town to walk around late at night alone. Plenty of nice cafes and restaurants nearby for food any time of the day. Situated in walking distance to Oriental Parade and Te Papa museum.

10/10 Exceptional

Clean, friendly & convenient
It’s an old building and rooms are above the pub. There’s also dorm/backpacker style accommodation in the house. However the ensuite Hotel room was pristinely clean, old, tiny bathroom but very well serviced. Bed and linen were great quality. So if you can see past the rough charm of the reception area and the horror style elevator you will experience friendly hospitality at a fraction of the price you’d normally pay in Wellington.
