Poor Access to Hotel in Heidelberg
There were two primary problems with the hotel. First was the fact that you had to park far away and transport your luggage over cobble stones, at least a quarter mile. The street in front of it was not accessible by car. The second issue was that every building up and down this street had tables outside where young people were drinking and making lots of noise till way after midnight. Not a pleasant experience. Because the hotel has no Air Conditioning, you want to leave the window open but its not comfortable with the noise. They try to overcome this by leaving ear plugs in each room but that doesn't satisfy the problem. Heidelberg is a university town and lots of young people gather here on weekends.

One to look out for
After struggling to navigate around the town to find the car park, we arrived to be greeted in excellent English. The waitress was actually English. We found the room to be better than expected, having reserved a simple double room. It turned out to be more like a suite. With its own entrance lobby enclosing the bathroom. The complementary 1/2 bottle of wine was most welcome, along with complimentary ear plugs, as the street life could get a bit lively we think, though we had no problems. The room was very clean and well furnished in a traditional style. Set in a fantastic part of the city, in the heart of the cultural centre. Restaurant served good traditional local cuisine at a fair price and service was excellent. The dining room itself is fascinating, being decorated with local images and musical instruments adapted into the lighting. The beer and wine were good local products. The breakfast was typical of the region, with a wide selection to choose from. Again service was very good. A friendly house which we would very much like to return to.
