Coll place to stay, but...
Cool historic building. Rustic charm. Close to the Plaza. Decent breakfast. Some sketchy individual that was not a patron of the Inn was hanging around outside the ground level window but was asked to leave by the staff (not at our request) and was go e after about 15 minutes. That was a touch uncomfortable but worked out ok.

This time, disappointing
I've stayed at the Inn before and enjoyed it. My previous room was well appointed, and the breakfasts were homemade, and good. Note that there is a $30 per day mandatory charge, which covers breakfast and water in your room. So when friends decided to meet in Santa Fe, this was a natural pick. But this time was a different experience. To keep it short, I didn't have an inside secondary lock on my door, and felt unsafe. I didn't sleep well, waking up every night unsettled. To be clear, there is a single deadbolt, opened and closed (by a four digit key stroke). Once inside, there is no secondary lock or latch. Safety should be first, and all rooms should have some sort of inside secondary lock. When I questioned management, the person was non-fluxed. "There is a lock" (yes, one only!). I moved furniture in front of the door each night to make myself feel better, but I knew this would not stop someone if they wanted to get in. The shower was nice and roomy, with hot water, but there was no shelf to put soap and shampoo, having to reach outside the shower to get them. Come on. These are easy fixes. To my embarrassment (if not the hotel staff's), my friends each had issues. One had been given a room which hadn't been cleaned and was a mess. Moving to another room, it had no soap or shampoo. Our other friends had to kill a cockroach. They were mortified, and it affected their enjoyment of the trip/hotel. The property is nice. Staff need to be counciled.

There are better places to stay in Santa Fe
They initially assigned us a room that had not been cleaned, once we got a room, the carpet was filthy, our cable service did not work and, ultimately, we had to fix it ourselves. Linen service was acceptable but minimal as we had to ask for additional soaps and shampoo. Neighbors of ours had a cockroach. The breakfast server was very attentive and food was sufficient although it lacked variety. All in all, the hotel was poorly managed.

Exceptional 10,0
Great stay in Santa Fe
The room was finely decorated and the bed was wonderful. The breakfast was freshly made every morning with scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, fruit salad, yogurt, granola, assorted cereals and breads. Excellent service at breakfast, very attentive. Also at night we were at the bar to listen to Doug Montgomery on the piano which was an unexpected treat, not to be missed during your stay.

First, this is more of a motel than an "inn" or "boutique hotel"....There was a sewer issue on Sunday morning and there was absolutely no one there to take care of front desk, no maintenance person and no manager. Even the sweet guy waiting tables for the breakfast crowd could not reach them...I started calling at 8am and the only person I saw was when we had to check out at 11am or be charged $30/hour for late check out...I could not even take a shower due to the backup in the bathtub itself...and my gate to gain access to the room was no sense of urgency on getting that fixed as I saw it on previous reviews...the only reason I did not give them an absolute thumbs down is I was provided a full refund..the only thing this motel has going for it the breakfast and the one guy they had to handle several tables....or yeah, but pay for it in spades via the "RESORT FEE"!
