You Get What You Pay For
The room was dirty, the mattress was very old (and not covered with a mattress protector), there was a spider in the shower and lots of other bugs flying around in the room. I woke up the first time because someone was playing music VERY loudly outside, then I woke up because my room smelled like cigarette smoke. There was a couple smoking outside the window at 2 am because the motel has benches and buckets out there like the promote smoking just outside the rooms. It was pretty gross. This motel had has lots of potential. It looks like they recently added new light fixtures and made an attempt at painting the doors and the rooms (not the bathroom), but I'm not sure they put the emphasis in the right things. Also, at check in, the girl acted like I was putting her out because she didn't receive a fax with my reservation and stated I was the third one that day.

Did not meet my low expectations!!!!!
Reason we selected this hotel offered 1. Free Wifi 2. Free Breakfast 3. Free Parking 4. Near Universal Studio. But out of these 4 only two were true....and that's Free Parking and Near Universal Studios. Free Wifi was not working in rooms we were given...if we go out of room Wifi worked!!! Free Breakfast - When we checked in we were told no Free breakfast available and attendant claimed that Expedia/Hotels.com has not updated that...blame game! Rooms were smelly and bathroom/shower space were very very small.

RUN FAR AWAY (go to Columbia Inn)
Hilarious that the picture shown looks NOTHING like what you get. I've stayed in better places for much less than the $78 we paid for a night. The bed was moderately comfortable but the sheets were barely big enough to fit the bed and did not cover us, the "blanket" (I use this term loosely as it was like a thin overwashed towel) was even smaller than the sheet! Fixtures were not clean (but shower seemed clean and surfaces were wiped) and the "amenities" consisted of a hand soap dispenser on the shower wall, empty, and a bar of soap on the sink. No coffee maker in the room and only 2 towels, no hand towels or bath mat. The carpet was very spongy and seemed slightly damp which did not contribute to the somewhat musty room odor. In back, the property itself was filled to overflowing with what I assume was old furniture in the parking spots covered with plastic tarp and the whole place had an atmosphere of run-down trailer-town and slatternly live-ins. The "continental breakfast" consisted of a thermos of coffee with dried creamers and no cups, tea bags with no source of hot water and individually wrapped Svenhards pastries. We were HUGELY disappointed with this stay, especially when we found that in the Columbia Hotel nearby the rooms were beautiful, themed to the gold rush era and cheaper! We'll stay there next time because sharing a bathroom is way better than staying in a dump.
