It was such a pleasant experience at The Wit from check in until check out. Our flights arrived before the check in time but the front desk allowed us to check in a couple hours early. The location was perfect walking distance from everything and overall it seemed like a very safe area.

Awesome hotel - but walls are thin...
It's so hard not to give theWit five stars. It really is a great hotel. And it truly has the "Chicago feel". It's right next to the train, right by the river, and it's in the heart of all the action. Everything is a short walk away, from Millenium park, to restaurants to bars. The entry is super trendy with an awesome awning that has ambient heat - which is great as you wait for your Uber on cold nights. The lobby is modest but welcoming. The check in process was smooth and the staff is efficient and kind. The guest rooms are spacious, beds and bedding are comfortable, shower is roomy, and bathroom is well appointed. It's a really nice hotel. The hallways outside the room are clean and the "owl" white noise is a nice touch. So far it seems like a five star review, right? So why the four stars? Because the walls are paper thin!!! The first night we had a room change because a father and mother were scolding their child. It was as if they were in our room. So much so that we made the move from the 25th floor to the 15th floor. Thought maybe it was an isolated incident. Not the case. The second night I heard a couple arguing next door. They kept me up until 5:00am. Then they finally stopped and I was able to sleep for a few hours. So, if you are a heavy sleeper and don't mind hearing the folks in the next room, this is the place for you. If you are a light sleeper, buyer beware. Safe travels.

Not a pleasant experience.
We chose this location because it had good ratings, decently cheap ($261/night for 2 queen beds) and looked up to date and modern. When we arrived check in went fine and the lady who helped was kind and she told me to download an app to help with the parking situation. I did that and we parked at the garage that was across the intersection and the app said a total of $27.75 (ended up being $60) for the overnight parking. We had to carry all of our bags from the garage in the freezing cold to the hotel and up to our floor, never once was offered a cart or any help. When we got in our room we noticed an almost empty container of cream cheese in our fridge and a bottle cap in the bed, under almost all of the sheets. I was pretty grossed out by the half cream cheese in our fridge because that means they didn’t clean it and we had stuff to put in there so I had to wipe it out with a lysol wipe (put those in your overnight bag) but the bottle cap under the bed sheets made me furious because they would have noticed the cap there if they actually changed the sheets. I didn’t want to stay in the room because I wasn’t sure what they had ACTUALLY cleaned. Lastly, for the price each night ($261/night) they should have breakfast included, but instead you had to pay multiple fees if you wanted breakfast so my boyfriend had to walk to go find breakfast because we couldn’t take our car out of the garage or we would’ve had to pay more. Had to walk to walgreens for advil, TheWit doesn’t sell.

Hit or miss. Too pricy for the service provided
The shower pressure was not very strong, there were not bathroom robes, the blanket on the bed had burn marks on it and it didn’t look washed. Service was great and being able to text the front desk is awesome because they were friendly and help. However, the breakfast is limited even during these times, and I didn’t have a pleasant experience with the $10 fruit plate that came in a bowl and consisted of the saltiest nut I have ever tasted.
