Profile: Manly

Manly is located 11 miles from Sydney’s business district, and is one of the most popular destinations in the area. Its beaches are the big draw, offering stretches of rock pools, pine trees, and golden sands, as well as some of the best surfing in the country. Shelly Beach is an off-the-beaten track destination that’s a great spot for kayaking or snorkeling, while the Manly ferry will carry you past the striking Sydney Opera House. Every October the area hosts the free Manly International Jazz Festival, which draws music fans from around the world.

This historic property is a gem. So quiet and peaceful with great friendly staff, wonderful breakfast and you may see a possum or bandicoot!

Room did not have aircon , air inside was stuffy and it was not possible to keep windows open. Room was not cleaned as you would expect. The furnished balcony is not private but it is only a common corridor with other guests walking up and down; there is no privacy as your bedroom is just in front of the glass door on the corridor (the same is for the toilet, you need to keep the curtains closed all the time) . It felt as being in a 2 stars Hotel. Staff at reception was friendly and helpful.

    Not what we paid for

We were expecting a lot more from this experience especially after staying at 5 star accommodation during the week. I would rate this as 2 stars with many excuses for lack of service due to covid. The breakfast option was well below par and overpriced and delivered in a paperbag with no aplomb
