Warm and welcoming staff, very clean accomodations
I stayed here with my teenage son in July. We drove from Rome, and found that once you arrive in Campobasso, there are street signs that show you how to get directly to the hotel. The decor at Cascina Garden Hotel is very simple, but the rooms are very spacious and clean, and the staff is wonderful. Wifi is free, and individualized passwords are updated every 10 hours to protect security. Though we only had breakfast here, it looked as though the hotel did have nightly offerings for dinner. PROS: The biggest plus at this hotel is the staff. I can't recall the names of the ladies at the front desk, but they were extremely kind and helpful, and one carefully drew a detailed map for me so that I could find nearby Ferrazzano by car. She also told us about a *great* pasticceria/cafe nearby. One of the dining room workers, Alicia, was also very sweet and enjoyed chatting with us. SUGGESTION: The only suggestion I have to make the stay more pleasant is to offer something more for breakfast for those of us that prefer non-sweet items for the morning. Even a simple selection of breads and cheeses would be a nice option. I definitely recommend Cascina Garden Hotel if you are visiting Campobasso!

Campobasso Stay
We visited Campobasso to search for family roots. This Hotel was a bit far from the 'town' but accessible by foot, walking slowly, it took us around an hour. Very pleasant, weather was unusually cool for August. The Cafe Americano was excellent! The breakfast buffet was okay, juices, cereals (2), small toasts, and cakes. We supplemented with fresh fruit. The hotel is old but clean. The staff was helpful, one spoke a bit of English. To communicate with the others we used our book-learned Italian and hand signs. Very reasonable compared to other hotels. Wi-Fi was spotty but free and staff was very helpful. The food at the restaurant was good and there were two primi, secondi and contorno dishes to choose from. We may use this hotel again when we return to Italy.

Very good, friendly, value for money hotel
This was just off the main roads into Campobasso and was well signposted. It was a very clean and neat hotel with the decor a little dated. We used it as as stop off when we went to visit Saepinum. It was very good value for money. We were shown to our room which doesn't often happen these days. They do a simple but very good, cheap fixed menu evening meal which they can adapt a bit to suit tastes. Breakfast was mainly cake, cereal and french toast and jam. I would make a point of saying that the lady at reception was more than helpful and friendly as were other staff. But I have never waited so long for service in a restaurant in my life!

Cascina - convenient location but confuses Satnav
Located directly (really) above the SS87 which confused the satnav as we drove through the tunnel underneath! The hotel is mid-refurbishment and we got one of the 'new' rooms which was very clean and well decorated, if the rest of the hotel and grounds are finished to the same standard it will be a very good place to stay. Only downside is the restaurant and bar which are functional but no more, though the staff were helpful and cheerful. Make sure you go to Altilia Saepinum (careful you don't drive past, the sign is not obvious) this is a really interesting and accessible Roman town well worth the €2 parking.
