Modern, clean, friendly staff
I was finding it hard to find a decent hotel under 100€ so when we found this one we booked it straight away we wasn’t expecting much but this hotel definitely exceeded our expectations. The two gentlemen on reception that we met were very friendly and happy to help with all the questions and requests. You received free water in the room and can ask for a top up. The lobby and breakfast area are beautiful decorated, really modern and quirky. The only negative thing I would say is because of how much effort they put into decorating downstairs, it’s a shame they haven’t done the same upstairs. The hallways to the rooms are very outdated and the room itself could do with a refresh and added touches of funky decor, it would be perfect if they did! But the room/bathroom are clean and the beds are comfy (very soft sheets). The location is fantastic for the train and metro lines, the centre is abit far if you’re walking but if you enjoy stretching your legs it is a pleasant walk. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.

Don't bother with this hotel
Room was very small and not clean. Dog hair on the bedspread. I've never seen a tub so small and although it had a shower, there was no shower curtain. Maid started banging around outside our door at 7AM. Not what we expected.

Home away from home
What a cozy nice hotel, 2 min walk to Central Station and right around corner from car rentals. Receptionists super friendly. Refferred us to a wonderful restaurant. What a great way to end our 3 week vacation in Italy. Thanks Hotel Bernina

Stay if you need to be close to the train station?
We chose Bernina for the location and after our stay is probably its best redeeming quality. The hotel is minutes from Milano Centrale. The first receptionist we met was somewhat rude and not welcoming but it was hard to tell if part of it was a language issue. There was a slight confusion regarding holding our passports. And he didn't provide a map or recommendations of things to do in Milan. Every other place we stayed at in Italy did. During check out the receptionists were also curt and not overly friendly. Our room was on the second floor and it seemed to be cleaned hastily. There was still a (used?) towel hanging and there was a soap bar in the shower. The room is quite small. No window views. We read good reviews about the breakfast but oh man, breakfast was underwhelming. The food that was supposed to be refrigerated (like yogurt) was not cold. There were no more mugs for tea when we came down. It seems breakfast gets pretty busy but there are not enough workers. Bottom line, if you need to be close to the train station then it's not bad. Don't expect a luxurious stay.

We came in late on the train so the close proximity to the train station was a plus. We only stayed one night, and were pleased with the one night stay.
