the motel is located close to the town, yet it is quiet. Easy access to shoal bay and Nelson bay. Reasonable price. Friendly staff.

Motel rooms are old (1970s maybe?) but scrupulously clean. Decent sized ensuite, table and a couple of chairs; plus a fridge, kettle, microwave etc. Comfortable mattress. New looking aircon and TV. What more can you ask for? The only downside was trying to find the light switch (a sign would be really helpful !) and difficulty filling the kettle at the taps in the sink - the sink is just too small to stand the kettle upright (I cheated and filled it at the shower). I've paid more (in Nelson Bay) for motel rooms that were not as nice. I'll go back there next time I visit.
