Horrible service.
The worst service I have ever had in NYC. It’s awful.

Perfect for work trip
This hotel is perfect if you're planning on using it strictly for sleeping / resting between spending most of your time out and about. I stayed for a full week on a work trip, and it was great. The room was small but I didn't need any extra space, just a good bed and a bathroom and TV, which it had. It was quiet as well. The heating system was a little odd - the bathroom was always hot, the room took a while to heat up - but otherwise this was just what I needed. Location was great, near subways.

Great value!!
The staff here was truly fantastic! Friendly and professional. Great location. The room was fairly small, but very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended!

Poor 2,0
All I’m going to say is who wants to take a shower in Ice cold water when it’s below freezing temps and Mgmt does absolutely nothing to accommodate for the inconvenience. A free breakfast doesn’t compensate crap when a person spends almost $500 to stay anywhere.😡 Never again!! The Doubletree Hilton is not even on the bottom of my list of choices.👎

So, I booked the king room through Hotels.com but when I arrived they gave me and my SO a room with double beds. No fault to Hotels.com, the man at the front desk told us, with an attitude, that since we went through a third party we do not get a choice of type of room. So this hotel is extremely out-dated

Nasty Night Shift
The hotel is a decent enough stay. Nothing too flashy, but not the worse room I've stayed in. I do have to say that there's an odd odor in some areas like the elevators and my bathroom. Oh, and i should mention that when I got here 3 days ago, the hotel had sold my room to someone else, so i had to stay in a double full rather than the queen that i had booked. But hey, I got a free water, a cookie, and the joy of moving to another room the next day. Yay! Anyhow... The daytime staff is incredibly considerate and customer empathetic. The swing/graveyard shift desk clerk, on the other hand, seems like a curmudgeon and maybe even a bit of a misanthrope. The two unfortunate times I've interacted with her, she's unpleasant, short tempered and apparently bothered when having to interact with customers. Just now, I asked her for a water. With that spiteful tone she seems to have so skillfully mastered, she tells me she'll have to charge me for the waters. Okay, but could you at least be nice about it? I took 2 minutes of your precious time. No ice machine on my floor, no vending machine, and no in-room reference that I'm aware of which spells out how to get basic necessities for sustaining life. So sorry to inconvenience. And please, don't tell me I'm suppose to take that glass in my room to the bathroom sink. This hotel isn't clean enough for me to assume I'll be dysentery free after that fateful, desperate gamble! I'll be staying elsewhere from now on. Hard to believe this hotel s

I've stayed in this hotel a number of times over the past few years, and I have always found that it is very satisfactory and usually reasonably priced for NYC hotels. The staff is very friendly and the location is fairly convenient if one is planning on going to Broadway shows, as I am, or going to events at Madison Square Garden. The room I had this trip was showing a bit of wear (mirror frame in bathroom, surface of desk), but overall I think for the price the hotel is a good buy if it is offering a special rate.

Clean, comfortable enough, but...
I booked a king and was “upgraded” to a double/double because “we’re oversold and this is actually more spacious”. While the room was fine, I would urge anyone with more than 2 guests not to book this room type. It’s tiny. Even alone it was tight. No room to iron with the full size ironing board provided.

Carpet may need to be cleaned due to a faint body order smell and bathroom shower door unable to close allowing water to seep throughout entire floor and need to tilex or bleach tile grout and shower door hinges that has built up mildew. Other than that the place was nice and would stay there again.
