Iceland Comfort Apartments is exactly what I thought it would be for the price I paid. 10 minutes from the centre of Reykjavik by car (I would 100% recommend renting a car) with free parking at front or back. Communal areas and corridors are spotless. Apartment itself quite basic though clean enough and adequately presented. Apartment we had was spacious, warm and looked north giving a good view towards the city. Bathroom a bit dated and as highlighted by others, taking a shower is a bit of an experience on two fronts - getting hot water and stopping water getting out and flooding the bathroom! Building was very quiet at night and no problems at all getting a decent sleep, though was woken early by some strange noises coming from the kitchen sink which I was advised is down to an issue with the pipes, and can’t be fixed. For us there were way more positives than negatives and, if travelling on a budget and having access to a car, then absolute stay here. If looking for something more luxurious and closer to the centre I’d look elsewhere. I would also add that this is a contactless rent and communication by email was excellent. No issues with key codes or gaining access and entry and leaving processes were seamless.

Good for a night
Descent stay. As we entered there was a very strong smell in the apartment as if someone just cooked a lot of spices and left. It took us a very long time and open windows to make it breathable. Hot shower was limited and the washroom too has a smell. Lights were dull. Location was excellent however and right opposite the supermarket. The check in process was extremely easy.

Great view and easy access to the buses and grocery store. Quick walk down to the inlet. The room had some good cooking utensils and pots and pans but sadly no cutlery. Not the end of the world but would have been nice to know beforehand.

We really enjoyed staying at the Iceland Comfort Apts. The area was lovely and we liked being able to visit local site. It was easy to get the #1 bus into town. But I would recommend a bit of upkeep and a refresh to the room. The bathroom needs a stronger vent fan as it has a fung when the door is shut. Also, a the shade were ripped in places and it needs to be refreshed. But don't let a lack of mascara and nail polish stop you from staying here. The little things can be over looked by all the positives. It's not in down town but it is close and quiet!

Pros: The apartment was a quick 10 minute or less drive to the attractions in Reykjavik which was nice. The free parking was also great. The staff respond quickly. There is a washer and dryer provided. Decently priced. Grocery store right across the street. Cons: The apartment itself is very simple and cheap. The furniture is scratched, wobbly, etc. You only get one towel and cloth for the whole week. The shower doesn't drain very well. The walls and curtains have stains/splatter on them that could be easily wiped or washed off but minimal effort is put toward overall cleanliness, just the bare minimum. The dishes were dirty most likely from the previous tenant as well as the sponges and brushes provided, being dirty with food stuck on them. There was also very limited dishes (Ex: 1 bowl to use for a meal). The teflon coating was scraped off so metal and parts of the pan would get in the food. The floor was incredibly sticky and you would not want to walk on it without shoes, there was spilled coffee stains under our bed when we first walked into our room. It can be loud at times. The laundry option was nice but it the room is in the basement with a 4 foot tall ceiling and the room is messy. The code pad to get in the apartment is incredibly dirty and should be wiped off frequently to assure others can't figure out the code. I would rate this place a 2.5/3 out of 5 stars. If you are looking for super clean or luxurious, this is not the place for you. Overall, an ok stay.

Great location ( having rental car) 10 minutes to downtown and all shops/mall/attractions. Easy process to check in and out. Amenities were very outdated like microwave, tea pot had a crack. Silverware was very limited with only 1 knife that was only good for bread. Shower curtain needs to have some weight on the bottom to prevent it flying all over you while showering.

The apartment itself was nice and clean, in a decent location. The blinds, however, didn't close all the way and there was a lot of street lights and sound when trying to sleep. It was also extremely warm with no area to adjust the temperature. Overall though not bad, these were just two things that made our stay meh.
