Pretty nasty. We booked late at night. The motel is old, 50's vintage and has had basically no discernible upgrades since it was built. The carpet was worn and stained, the door had light showing when closed, it was difficult to lock. The tv had its connections hanging in the air, and the shower was minuscule. The only thing positive I can say is the the sheets and towels were spotless.

Very spartan. No phone. Limited TV. No carpeting and small so no floor exercising. I'm used to economy but not that much particularly for a price above 125 before taxes.

Atrocious conditions
I will never stay here again. The room was very small, the temperature could not be well-controlled, and the bed resulted in back pain for both of us. The shower water was dangerous, as it suddenly and inexplicably became scalding, but then would return to cold. There was no rack near the sink for a hand towel, nor was there open counter space next to the sink, even though there was room for either an extension of the counter or a table. Moreover, the long curtain in the bathroom hung down well past the toilet paper dispenser and had to be tucked up on the windowsill. The carpeting was low, rough, and not necessarily preferable to concrete. The small table in one corner of the main room and the small dresser next to the fridge were in poor shape and so small as to be pointless. Perhaps most worrisome was the extensive exterior damage to the wood of nearly every section of the motel. This motel was not worth the relatively low price we paid; it was an absolutely regrettable decision.

City Center Motel - Seaside
This review is a bit mixed, so be sure to read to the end. We had two rooms here on the last night of our longer trip to the Oregon Coast. The motel itself is old, and, truthfully, at first sight I was a bit apprehensive. I was a little surprised that the rates were as high as they were, but hey, you can't argue with the laws of supply and demand. Parking wasn't totally convenient, and I wonder if they have enough slots for full occupancy. Our rooms were clean and comfortable, so no complaints on those two fronts. Our rooms happened to be a bit noisy, being near the entrance to the small indoor swimming pool and across a small access walkway from the laundry facility used by the housekeeping staff. The king room was nicely sized, but the double queen didn't have a lot of maneuvering room around the side of one of the beds to access the bathroom. The location is great: two short blocks from the Seaside promenade, two short blocks from a variety of food options. Esteban at the front desk was very efficient at getting us checked in and recommending a place for dinner. The motel vibe matches the general Seaside vibe, which is a little more raw than the other stops on our trip (Cannon Beach, Lincoln City). If I come back, I'd be inclined to try one of the ocean-front properties, but if my compulsive thriftiness kicks in again, I will definitely consider another stay at the City Center Motel.

Major Disappointment
I booked City Center Motel for a weekend trip with my husband. The room in the picture looked clean and nice and the location was close enough to the beach. However, when we entered the room, we faced a major disappointment. The room was moist, hot, and smelly. It didn't look like the picture at all. Instead, it was small and not just old but run-down. The carpet had a hole, the veneer on the bathroom cabinet started to peel off, and it was dirty, so I wore socks not to step barefoot on the floor. The cost: $235.75 for one night (including tax).
