We loved this place
Our room was gorgeous! King room with balcony facing Frenchmen street. Can get a bit loud but it’s Frenchmen street and the hotel provides earplugs. The rooms with these balconies have windows you open up to walk out onto the balcony from but it’s not an issue. This hotel is a cross between a hotel and bed and breakfast feel. We loved it. Very private. The tv in the room is tiny, very tiny so be prepared. Here’s some advice on parking, it’s free in Sunday if you can find a spot where n the street but read the signs. Lots in this area are cheaper than Bourbon street for sure so that’s helpful but if you can find a spot after 7:00 pm on the street it’s free until 8:00 am so you won’t have to pay for overnight parking.

6/10 Good

Wanted to love it, but...
The property itself is beautiful, a well-designed renovation of a historic building. Lots of charm. The bed was very comfortable - mattress and pillows were great. Our bathroom floor was very dirty upon arrival and obviously had not been cleaned, despite having fresh towels. The floor had a significant amount of sand on it, and a quick wipe with a paper towel made it clear that the floor was very dirty. Being in a neighborhood like the Marigny/Frenchmen, where the streets and sidewalks are extremely dirty - you want to know that the floors of your room have been cleaned properly. This was not the case and naturally made us concerned that the rest of the room had also not been cleaned properly. Front desk staff varied from neutral to completely unhelpful. Of the four separate front desk people we interacted with, only one was informed or even interested in helping to answer questions. The retail items available for purchase in the lobby are great, but the staff knew little to nothing about the items, their pricing, or how to find them if we actually wanted to make a purchase. The pool area is very nice, just like the pictures. Free coffee in the lobby in the morning was a nice little surprise. The location is great (if you're not familiar with it - bring earplugs!) and very walkable. Overall, this is a very cute property with a lot of potential, and the price was right for our last minute stay. A refocusing on cleanliness and customer service would go a long way.

6/10 Good

Great location & Loud music
Pros: Very convenient to jazz clubs, easy walk to French Market, Jackson Square. Lovely rooms, tasteful decor, nice staff. The jazz museum is very close by and on Tuesday afternoons, there is a free concert in the lawn area in the back. If you go to Envie Bar & Cafe,, you can sip on a beverage and hear the music. Cons: The earplugs at the front desk are there for a reason. I had picked this hotel because of the proximity to Jazz clubs. However, I wasn’t expecting to be hearing loud music until the wee hours of the night. Perhaps it was because I was in room 101 which is right by the street. When I asked to have my room changed, the morning Reception person told me to check with the evening person since they would know better if there was a room available. The evening reception person told me that I should have a checked with the morning person since the manager was there during that time. Not sure it would have made any difference though.
