Nice people, great breakfast
15 different kinds of fresh fruit at breakfast, you won't see that at most motels. Very welcoming, nice people.

Nice Small Motel in Town
Hotel needs a little sprucing up, but it was very clean and comfortable and is conveniently located near the college. Plenty of easy parking; good wifi. Breakfast was a large assortment of delicious in-season whole fresh fruits (not fruit salad), a variety of breads, pastries, cereals, and juices. Ask for first floor room if stairs are a problem as I did not see an elevator to second level. Whatever the hotel may lack in appearance is more than made up for by the cheerful, friendly, and helpful proprietor, Paul. He is a gem and made us feel like welcome family, even though we were only there for one night. We took his suggestion to have dinner next door at Olympic Family Restaurant and were not disappointed. It's definitely a favorite with the locals. We would stay here again.

The manager (proprietor?) is hardworking. For example, there were no bath towels in the room and he sprinted across the parking lot with fresh towels. And he may be a little overeager. At checkout, he requested we give a ten to the stay when we rated it. At check-in, he told us the mattresses were brand new and he would like our evaluation, and although the room was bigger, with two beds, there was no charge for the upgrade. [This was the second bonus on the trip and I wonder if Hotels.com is pushing for free upgrades.] The commentary breakfast was interesting: the usual stuff and what seemed to be a middle east based selections of four kinds of nuts, three or four berries and kiwi. The motel is rough around the edges and a good value…except: There is a potentially severe electrical problem. First, there is no smoke detector, just loose wires hanging down from the ceiling. Second, outlets are strained with a surge protector and one has a refrigerator and microwave plugged in. Third--and this may not be electrical--the heater doesn’t heat; or how to make it work is puzzling; strange codes are not explained. Although the room is nonsmoking, there are ashtrays and chairs in the exterior hallways right outside open windows.
