We loved our stay at Lomas Del Volcán. A bit of a misunderstanding and challenge upon arrival with our reservation, but staff was able to find a reasonable compromise for us and it ended up working out better for us in the end. The road to get to the property was interesting (smile). It will definitely make you feel like you're on the wrong road, but I'm sure that's to create the "jungle" experience. The staff was phenomenal!!! Best part of our stay! Breakfast was delicious with various options everyday and included with your stay. Property was quiet and secluded and likely better than even some of the supposedly 5-star hotels nearby. Once you're off the grounds, you have a small town nearby and the La Fortuna city within 2 miles. We could have walked but a rental car is DEFINITELY handy. Use Vamos rental. They were easy, transparent, and friendly. No hidden fees. The property's pool area was fun and clean. The grounds were without a doubt, like a paradise. Our only challenge was the wifi strength. Seems like early mornings it worked better than other times. This could be because their password never changed over the years, so people who shouldn't be using it, is, which likely is reducing the strength for current guests. We had a few brief and quick power outages. They lasted a few seconds at best, but if working remotely, you're out of wifi and have to await the reconnect. Netflix installed on the tvs were smart. Best La Fortuna hotel in the area, hands down.
