Profile: Downtown Santa Fe

Profile: Downtown Santa Fe

Downtown Santa Fe is home to the sand-colored New Mexico Museum of Art, located just off the ever-bustling Plaza, and set in an enchanting Pueblo Revival building from 1917 with curving adobe walls and protruding timbers. The museum includes 2 sculpture gardens, works by regional and international artists, and a fine collection of photography.

If you’re in the mood for some shopping, visit the Santa Fe Farmers’ Market at the Railyard, open year-round on Saturdays, and during the summer months on Tuesdays. The market has a splendid selection of local produce as well as baked goods, cut flowers, and crafts.

Great one night stay in Santa Fe. Sadly, the city is mostly closed. The hotel restaurant was one of the only options for dinner. We had a 7:45p reservation. We arrived at 7:15 and had a drink at the bar. At 7:45 we were seated at our table and after looking at the menu for a few moments, the waiter came to inform us that the restaurant closed at 8 PM. So, we ordered immediately and we were the only ones in the restaurant by 8:30 PM.

Wish I Was There For Longer

The Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi was an amazing stay. Excellent staff. The room was clean, which is a must during COVID times. The room was comfortable, the shower was amazing. Having a fireplace in the room was such a delight. We stayed on New Years Eve so they even gave us a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. Would definitely come back!

No coffee available downstairs by reception. Youhad to be served--no take-with. As they couldn't open a dining area, having coffee would've been nice.

Great hotel but eh on customer experience

I was very excited to stay there. A couple things I was disappointed in, it is supposed to be a pet friendly hotel. My husband and I were sitting outside on the extended patio that was literally on the street across the sidewalk from the property. And were told we could not have our dog sitting under our outdoor table. Very strange for Santa Fe. I also overheard another couple that was staying there with their children ask the waitress if it was OK if their kids could eat there McDonald’s outside while the parents had appetizers and a drink. They were staying at the hotel and were told it was against policy to eat anything else from outside of the hotel. I really was disappointed in that and a couple ended up leaving with their children. Not the kind of customer service I would’ve expected at a Rosewood.

The Rosewood Inn was pleasant enough but not exceptional, given the high price. We had expected more. The public spaces were dark and cramped. When we checked out in the morning, the front desk clerk was curt, and didn't even asked if we enjoyed our stay. For the money, I would highly recommend La Fonda instead: half the price, friendlier service, beautifully decorated rooms and public spaces in traditional New Mexican style. At the Rosewood Inn, we had expected Four Seasons service -- at least, but got something much, much less than that.
