Very wonderful welcoming staff. They gave us a room upgrade. Maybe because I am a gold member, not sure. The room was very nice, super clean but a bit stark, not warm. It could feel a bit like a nursing home - mint green walls, tan furniture - they could update the colors and add more modern touches to make it more hip and or elegant, but overall the hotel is lovely, very well appointed. Bar inside only had a few seats so we were not inclined to even try the food but the location is so great you can walk everywhere and its quiet. We would likely stay here again, very comfortable

It was lovely. My only complaint is the loudness of the heat when it comes on. That said, it is a beautiful, old building and a silent heating system is not realistic. So, really more of a comment than a complaint.

Bait and switch
Booked a king bed. Had t wait past 3 to check in. Came back to room tired to sleep. The bed was a queen. The hotel maybe had 3 guests. The room square cottage was also 1/3 less than stated. We slept like very poorly. Hotel staff blamed us, stated that the bed was not guaranteed. The only reason we booked this hotel was the bed. The clerk said the manager was not there and did not want to hear it, and blamed the “Hotels.com third party booking”.

Disappointment in RI!
The Vanderbilt Auberge was a big disappointment. We have stayed in many Auberge resorts and thought this would hold up to the brand. It doesn’t in any regard. It’s tired and in desperate need of a complete face lift. It will take rather complete restructuring to bring this even close the the four stars advertised.

Lovely Property Lousy Rooms
Staff makes everything to give guests a good experience. The downstairs and the surroundings of the property are quite beautiful but the rooms are extremely mediocre especially at those prices.

It is a great place to stay.
The rooms are expansive, with a large living room which included a bar, a large bedroom and a bathroom with a shower. Breakfast is served on an enclosed patio with an extensive list of options. Dinner is likewise first class from steak to seafood together with salad and deserts. Parking for your vehicle is provided as a part of the overall cost. The staff is outgoing and works to satisfy. If you do not like the Vanderbilt, Auberge, see a psychiatrist as soon as possible.
