Gray Street hotel
Glad we found this hotel lovely rooms modern. Friendly staff lovely bar and restaurant area

Great staff let down by poor beds
The mattress was very poor and this really let the hotel down. The room was a decent size and the bathroom was lovely. We were on the front and street noise was a bit of an issue early evening (noisy revellers) but this settled down by midnight. The bar was nice and the staff were friendly and efficient.

Good newcastle city centre hotel Location.
Second time we have stayed at the hotel. Very good facilities, great location. We had a disturbed night our first night due to noise from other rooms on our floor. Would suggest room doors might be changed so they can’t slam. Second night was completely silent as guests had checked out. Luck of the draw I suppose. Overall staff are very helpful, friendly and we would definitely stay again.

Not keen
The room we were given was not the room which we booked, it was totally different in-fact. The bed was so uncomfortable and the betting was thin and again not comfortable in the slightest. If you are looking for luxury then stay away from here, I won’t be recommending the hotel due to the high volumes of hotels in the area. I was choosing between this hotel and the sandman, I only chose the grey hotel as it said we would get a deluxe double which was the same price as a regular double in The sandman, however there was nothing deluxe about it

Great staff, great location - bed lets it down!
Hotel overall is really nice, staff are it’s main selling point - really friendly and attentive, in particular the breakfast staff. Breakfast itself was lovely, a great choice and excellent food. Room was nice, but I wouldn’t say worth the money. The bed was extremely disappointing as although I’d paid extra for a deluxe room featuring a king bed, it was actually two beds sIpped together which just isn’t acceptable when not advertised. I did complain at the time but was advised this was most of their rooms and there wasn’t any availability to move us. Pillows were very poor also, not a comfortable sleep at all really! I’d also reserved the romantic package as it was my partner’s 30th, was nice but didn’t really feel it was worth the extra overall. Great location though and as I’ve said, staff are definitely the hotel’s strong point.
