Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas All Inclusive
Poor
PLEASE spend your money elsewhere
Stayed here April 2-7, 2018 with my girlfriend. I am not the one to complain but I have to be honest with anyone looking to stay here - spend your money elsewhere! Views and property very nice, but not much excitement in terms of entertainment. Service is terrible, very slow and unattentive - ordered drinks by pool twice and they did not return. Sat down for buffet and no one came over to give water or drinks. We had one great waitress at breakfast (Abril) she was the only one to give us the time of day. Our balcony jacuzzi was filthy when we checked in and we had to ask for it to be cleaned. The food is horrible that we ate off-site for dinner - the al a carte restaurants close at 9PM (do not try to attempt and sit to eat after 8:30 they will not let you in.) Breakfast and lunch - typical buffet and what you’d expect at an all-inclusive. We asked for late check out - late being 1-hour (1PM instead of 12PM) they said we would have to pay $65 - our airport transfer was arriving at 2PM and although they give the check out pass it was just the cherry on top to a very disappointing stay. Cabo is beautiful and has a lot more to offer - this place has potential but it felt like once they got us there they did not care about anything else. PS - One HUGE inconvenience- if you plan on going to the spa or participating in any other a la carte activities do not expect to charge it to your room - You must pay everything upfront - including the on-site convenience stores.

A perfect mix of fun & relaxation!!! It was great having access to Riu Santa Fe right next door for my 19 year old daughter & her friend as they enjoyed the music, dancing & craziness and I was able to enjoy the shows & quiet time at night. The staff was amazing and so helpful!

Good
A+ for facility and staff, F- for food and drink.
This place was a bit of contradiction. A beautiful facility. Right on the beach overlooking the Sea of Cortez. The staff was incredibly attentive, constant upkeep of the facility and anything they could provide for you, they would do right away. We never had to wait for a drink and anything we needed they quickly tended to your needs. On the other hand, the food was an abomination. Just absolutely terrible. We tried 3-4 of the restaurants from the cheaper buffets to the "higher end" full service restaurants and pretty much everything was terrible. If you are a wine drinker, forget it. This wine was not just bad, it was undrinkable (and I'm not a wine snob). How do you cook a steak medium rare and it still be dry as particle board? Why does all the fish smell "off"? How can you make a lobster risotto and you cant tell the lobster from the rice? We were able to salvage a decent breakfast because it's hard to screw that up (but scrambled eggs with sliced hot dogs?). I felt bad for the cooks because I feel like if given decent ingredients and training they might be able to produce something good but there is nothing you can do with prison quality ingredients. Same goes for the drinks. No decent wine, beer or liquor. Just stick with margaritas and cheap beer. The all inclusive "upcharge" to stay here was not even close to worth it. It's too bad because it is a beautiful place an the staff is top notch. But we won't return.
