We had a good stay under somewhat challenging conditions -- i.e., the recent heat wave in France. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly, and accommodating -- doing all they could to make us more comfortable. For example, they gave us a fan for the room (there is no A/C), offered complimentary cold bottled water, and facilitated a room switch when we found that our first one was full of flies and mosquitoes. So ....
HUGE thank-you's and shout-out's to Florelle and Caroline for their outstanding customer service. They really made the difference for our stay. Thanks too to hotel management for the flexibility shown.
All that said, I have no idea how this hotel is a 4-star. It's solidly in the 3-star zone for a number of reasons. No problem with a 3-star hotel; the rating just raised expectations beyond what the property could deliver.
