A Hilton Garden Inn in name only
Did not meet my expectation of a Hilton Garden Inn. On check in, hotel sheet was stained, the shower curtain was worn, air conditioning was loud. Hotel.com only stated parking available. I guess thats code for valet. Location was convenient to French Quarter and tram. Checkout staff was friendly.

Reservation was made on line ten days before our arrival. I called the local number to confirm my request for adjoining rooms was made. I had my grandson with me and needed the adjoining room option. She stated it was. When I checked in, the attendant did not give me adjoining rooms and when I told her that I specifically called she responded with a trained comment and stated that was not the hotel but our corporate ofc. She also stated "does not matter we are sold out". This went on for 3 additional times. I had enough and asked her to stop with the same comment. It was not appreciated and if I called Hilton and they said it was the front desk and it was handled she is a part of the Hilton team and did not need to give me a trained repetitive response with no concern whatsoever. I book numerous reservations for my employees that travel and whenever we have a special request we call and it is met after they confirm they can meet our requests. Was very disappointed with this portion. The hotel is a great hotel with location and their rooms. However will not use them again for special trips that need requests to be met.

Outdated Room
I only stayed one night but the hotel was dated . Room was basic, no USB connections , Bathroom was very dated , looks 20 yrs old , No shower curtain for the shower area.

Not what it use to be
Overall, the stay was fine. We have been staying here on an annual basis since 2010, with the last time being 2019 prior to the pandemic. Upon arriving our room smelled from cigarette smoke. Being New Orleans, we figured after a day or so it would be gone. Housekeeping did a great job with that. When we moved the shades, we found a basket of rags. We figured housekeeping bay have forget and the next day it would be gone. No such luck. Told the main desk. Next day, still there. We also asked for the boxes to be removed. No such luck. I finally moved the rags to the elevator lobby on our floor at it sat there for 2 more days, next to used napkins and silverware from room service. By day 5 the rags were gone, but the silverware and napkins remained in the corridor. We also noticed what looked like blood above the mirror in our washroom. No pens or paper in the room. When to reception to ask for a pen and I was told "NO, we don't have any." What, no pens? A six day stay in a suite at $2100 and I cannot have a pen? After 3 minutes of begging for a pen, the gentlemen with the long-colored fingernails finally gave me one. Absolutely, ridiculous! Things have changed. When Kristi Taglauer and Brian Roberts where managing this hotel, everything was perfect. Now, not so much. All our simple requests were ignored. Going forward our annual Jazz Fest trip will most likely be at another hotel.
Rags left in room, moved it to the corridor where it stayed for another 2 days.
