Unsanitary
We were in a suite with 5 guests. The room only had 3 towels and 4 pillows. The staff was able to find more towels, but I was told twice that they had no more pillows. I had to go to Walmart to buy pillows so everyone would have one. The staff gave the impression that they were there strictly for a paycheck. They showed no concern about anything. The paper cups in the room were not wrapped in plastic. When walking down the hall, I noticed that the stack of cups were on the cart, open end of the cup up, and leaning against the wall, not wrapped. When we arrived, there was less than 1/4 roll of paper on the toilet paper roll and no extra rolls. I had to go to the front desk for more toilet paper. There were random things in the bathroom floor (i.e. dirty q-tip, toothpaste lid) indicating the rooms had not been cleaned properly. The bottom of the tub was covered in what appeared to be rust.

Cincinnati getaway
My husband and I had a wonderful time in Cincinnati even though the weather was a bit cold. Our room was very nice and roomy and the bed was very comfortable. We brought our dog Lucie and we were thankful that they wasn’t an extra charge for pets. How nice😊 The hotel was easy to find off the interstate and we would definitely stay here again. The staff were very nice here!

They booked a room a reserved, offered me adjoining rooms and never told me they would have a share door. This was a family trip. The pool wasn’t opened and that was the reason for me booking there was for the room. The bathroom was small. The water shut off mid shower

Great stay (only issues COVID related)
Most issues were covid related: we knew there probably would be no pool or breakfast, though to go bags would have been nice. We had a suite so just bought some groceries for breakfast, but without daily room refreshes, and two tiny trash cans, the trash piled up fast (including diapers), so that was frustrating. Front desk was nice but you had to go get any extra linens/towels yourself from the front desk. Room was clean. I inspected thoroughly before unpacking and it was spotless, so that was great. The pullout couch was actually pretty comfy too. Overall a great stay and I’m guessing when not dealing with COVID, there wouldn’t be any of these issues. (And we got a great price so were ok with the fewer amenities. Would definitely come back!

Modern updates throughout the hotel. Room didn't have shower towels, mattress was lumpy and the room didn't have a fan so it got hot occasionally. Nice WiFi and quiet otherwise.

At check in we found out pool and amenities were closed due to Covid. They said Ohio was behind in there Covid allowances. Everywhere else we stayed on this trip was open. There was food on the floor and in the heat vents, the plug in the bathroom was a huge fire risk. It was not even attached to the wall!! There was dirt on the sheets.... if I wasn’t so tired I would have wanted my money back. We complained to the front desk upon checkout and all she did was blame it on the maintenance staff. First of all you take OWNERSHIP of all problems with the place since the customer spent and chose your place to spend their money! She did not apologize or offer some money back..!! I will NEVER stay at a La Quinta again!!!

Not as advertised
This stay was not at all as expected. While they did add some new renovations that looked nice, we experienced a lot of problems. First the pool is closed and they are serving no breakfast. This was upsetting as we were travelling with young children who were excited to use the pool and we specifically booked this hotel for those 2 reasons. I understand these things happen due to covid, but it is not advertised on their site or Hotels.com that these are closed and with featured pictures of the pool, you get the opposite idea. After a year you certainly have time to update that on your website. The rooms were nicely updated, but smelled like smoke. This is supposed to be a non smoking hotel, but come to find out it used to be an all smoking hotel and that scent has not left. Overall, this was a very disappointing stay. We would not stay here again.
