The inn is very close to the train and each room is unique. The beds were comfortable. It is an old building and the plumbing needs some updating.

Beacon Inn for Memorial Day Weekend

Fourth floor walk up. We checked in Friday and left Tuesday. New towels were left at the door but never came in to empty waste baskets or replenish TP. Clean overall but the porcelain sink was cracked and the throne was cramped for me at 6 foot. Always had hot water in the morning for our showers. First world problem - TV was analog and not HD.

    Disappointing

Everything was dusty, drawers, night stand was sticky the rug was filthy. The bed linens looked okay but who knows. I stayed with them in the past, at the other location as well! Also the key for the main door was not working properly, very annoying.

If you ever wondered what an iconic Boston brownstone is like, this is one of them. Full of turn of the century characters and details. Be prepared to climb steep stairs. 5-9 minute walk from Wholefoods, bakeries, American/Mediterranean/Spanish/Asian restaurants. - Some white dust from interior work on the floor and in the closet - website was not updated about no breakfast due to Covid. No coffee maker either. Small inconveniences. Overall a great place!

This time we got room#6. The whole night we could hear clearly the food steps from upstairs. Since no front desk at night, we couldn’t do anything but kept on waking up and being frustrated. In January we got room #4. Those 2 nights were nice and quiet. The location is very good.

The location is great for my purpose. The room is clean. The shower is a little too small and the bathroom has a big step. I almost tripped on it.

Good proximity for where I needed to be. Quiet neighborhood. Would have been nice to have a hot water kettle in room since there was no coffee or continental breakfast because of COVID.

Great find in a great location

Lovely inn with a homey atmosphere. Far more welcoming than a faceless international hotel. We will definitely stay there again

Wonderful unique old building with beautiful woodwork, solid wooden doors, and a nice bay window looking out onto tree lined Beacon Street. We will definitely return and hope that they will take our suggestions about lighting, power strips and more ice trays to heart. A beautiful cozy experience with several good restaurants within easy walking distance for dine in or take out. A gem!
