    Such a frustrating and disappointing hotel.

    Such a frustrating stay at quite an expensive hotel. We were staying for 2 nights for the Cambridge Festival, we chose the hotel as it was right next to the station and pick up point for the festival. Our room was not ready when we arrived on Saturday, so we went to the festival and booked in when we got back at 11.30pm. No issue at all about booking in, the room was really nice and we had a good nights sleep, breakfast the following morning was supurb, thats all the positives. On the negative: The hotel does not have its own car park, you have to park in the long stay station cark park which you have to pay for. On day 2, we went in to Cambridge to do some sightseeing before going to the festival, we went to our room to find it in the same condition as we left it, in other words there was no housekeeping, when we asked at reception we were told they do not make up / replenish the rooms for guests, which considering we were paying over £150 a night was a shock, so no change of cups, towels, bed made, tea / coffee etc! The final straw was when we got back from the festival we went to the bar for a drink, I asked for a cider but was told they do not stock any apple cider as people in Cambridge don't drink it, I pointed out the not everyone in the hotel is from Cambridge to which I was told 'oh well'. Suffice to say we will not be returning to this very expensive hotel that over promises and under delivers!

    Nuce hotel, shame about the parking.

    The hotel was fine. It was a little farther out of Cambridge center than i expected, i should have looked harder. The car oark is an NCP right next to the hotel and serves Cambridge north train station. As a business traveler i require receipts for my expenses. I am still trying to get a receipt for the parking. Just spoils an other wise fine hotel

    On an industrial estate.

    Staff were polite, efficient and friendly. Unfortunately, despite my check in time being 2pm, the room wasn’t ready which was disappointing me and meant I had to wait in the lobby. On arriving it became obvious that the car park belonged to the Railway Station and you needed to pay to use the car park. Now this isn’t a problem but that needs to be made clear when you are making the booking as there is nowhere else to park. The hotel is also miles away from any form of shop and the city centre. I was also disappointed to find out that there was no drinking water provided in my room. The evening meal was ok but not that hot when it arrived at my room so I was disappointed with the quality of the burger. It would also be great to know that you needed to use your room key to activate the lift as nobody informed me of that when I checked in. The room was comfortable, clean and had all the basic necessities, just not a lot of choice if you wanted a snack anywhere in the hotel. It would also be great if diary free milk was provided as an alternative in rooms to go with the tea/coffee. Also there was no caffeine free options on the soft drinks (Pepsi/coke etc) nor did you have any Redbush tea. I am caffeine intolerant and thankfully brought my own tea bags but non the less it would be great if hotels realised that providing alternatives should be a given not the exception.

    No cleaning during weekends

    apparently there was no staff to clean my room, I was at least provided with clean towels. there is a bright led light in room that i could not figure out how to turn of, with help from reception the only way to turn of is to remove the card from the card slot leaving my with no aircon. Communication with reception should have gone through WatsApp 3 questions from me 1 late answer. When I choose Novotel I expect good standard. ):
