Location Service Parking Balcony
This hotel is officially called “van der Valk Hotel Schiphol. Lovely hotel for the closeness to Schiphol, free shuttle to airport, ease of plenty of free parking, friendly staff, free bottle of champagne gained from my hotels.com membership, balcony to sit out on, lovely view of the green grounds below our room. The service was good at check-in, the room was spacious and well equipped (a little fridge would be good to have), the bathroom was super efficient and large, LOVED the shower. The only downside was the front entrance - too many steps - having to lift your suitcase up them is cumbersome and heavy! Plus this is not helpful for the disabled traveler!

Good location for a layover near the airport. Room was spacious. There was a smell in the room like something that had gotten wet and musty. The rooms have caperts in them that make the rooms look dated and possibly where the smell was foming from.

blood/puss stains in beddings
The stay was terrible. Upon arrival we found a huge (grapefruit size) crusty blood/puss stain under the pillow in our bedsheet. I cannot image no one saw this. Management did provide us with new sheets and beddings, but this indicates a serious lack in general sanitation. Management kindly provided us with a $5 coupon for our next stay. Naturally, we will never visit again, and I strongly recommend others to find clearer options.
