Loved the room and the staff were wonderful
Due to a full house the previous night, my check in was delayed but I was given a complementary tea in the bar while I waited. Extra time spent cleaning during Covid is more than okay with me so I didn’t mind the minor inconvenience. All of the staff were incredibly attentive; there was a general air of positivity and professionalism about the hotel. My room was very nice - big bed, gorgeous view over the city and clean. However, one or two of the floor tiles were loose and sometimes it was a struggle for the water to come out of the taps without making a lot of noise, but it’s an old building so I can understand that. Overall I was pleased with my stay.

Average stay
Very average stay, not sure I'd consider this a 4star hotel. Nothing awful to complain about, just not up to the same standards as other places on the trip. Service was pretty average again, quite slow although understanding they can be quite busy. The room was very warm, opening the window didnt help much. We requested a fan at 8am morning after our first stay, as they dont have air con, we were told they would have a look, but almost felt we were being a pester. Asked 4 times avout the fan. Came back at 1:30 and they still hadnt had a look for one. Felt a bit disappointed to have to keep asking and not much apologies given. We were told that between the 2 nights stay we wouldnt have the room serviced which was fine but that we would get a care package of fresh towels, but we didnt receive this either. It wasn't an awful stay, was not too far of a walk into cork and we chose this because it had free parking, although we stayed mid week and parking was difficult to find sometimes. It also has a decent fitness area, though you have to book and only one room can use it per hour. For the price i definitely wouldnt be going back. More of a 3* hotel with 4* prices.

Not great
I was really disappointed with this stay. It wasn't cheap and I was expecting a really nice room. The room was dirty. We had to ask for clean pillows due to stains on them. The balcony door was close to seizing - a clear lack of maintenance. Good location and easy to park at, but I won't be back.

Really nice place
The ambassador hotel was a really neat place. The hallways were wide, the rooms were big, the bathrooms nice. The receptionist was kind enough to upgrade me. The whole stay was wonderful until I went to take a bath. The water that came out the hot spout was brownish/yellow. I drained the tub and repeated this process twice and all three times the water was disgusting. Ended up with a quick and cold shower.

Luxury, comfort and good food
Clean, quiet, comfortable rooms with a view. The food is fantastic! (We had dinner and breakfast). The robes and slippers are a nice touch. Great location - a short walk from restaurants and bars (I highly recommend the Shelbourne Bar for an Irish Whiskey tasting experience.)

Hotel was was lovely and clean bright and warm..check in was hassle free but on return to hotel at 2 am after night were locked out in freezing cold for 20 minutes..apparently the night bell was not working..sorry but after paying a lot for a one night stay I’d expect someone in lobby to let returning guests in ...also as it was pouring rain u would need taxi to and from city...just factor that in when choosing..overall a pleasant stay..

Beautiful Hotel but let down on a few things
Lovely venue and staff are fantastic and very helpful. Received some great advice of where to go in Cork and the city is beautiful. Not many issues with the hotel other than the following: TV was very far away from the bed and needed binoculars to see it. Room service food wasn’t toasted or with a side salad as stated and lack of fridge and water in room.
