The motel portion was good with a couple of nice restaurants in the area. The water pressure in the shower was excellent. Breakfast was simple but good.
Staying on the first floor, we were awoken whenever the people walked across their floor. Our room had carpeting but the 2nd floor seemed like it must have been hardwood. I live in NYC so it's not like I'm not used to having neighbors but this was too noisy.
The guy who ran the lobby was a bit of a jerk. The morning after being awoken by the upstairs neighbors, I asked him if they were staying again that night because they were very noisy the night before. My plan was to change rooms if they were. Instead of answering, he turned away and went back to what he was doing so I had to ask him again and he mumbled an answer so I had to repeat what I thought he said and added, "is that right?". then he gave a monosyllabic, "Yes".
The next morning we were alone in the eating area. The TV volume was off so I raised it slightly so we could barely hear it while next to it. He quickly left his office and without saying anything shut off the volume. I said, "excuse me, are we not allowed to have the volume on" and he mumbled, "no". I then said, "well, you could say that rather than just walking out and turning it off without saying a word to us".
I left the room keys in the room rather than have to be ignored by him on the way out.
